Sorry to ask

Trying to understand the settings

What I want to accomplish is:

While braking and downshift, I want the rear tire to brake the most posible, to help slow the bike down

What is the best setting for this?

ENGINE BRAKE 1

ENGINE BRAKE 2

Or 3?

Or am I getting this wrong?

While it could be turned off on my 1199R, the ABS nor EBC can be turned off on the V4R. Maybe someone else can attest the the other V4's. Would be nice, and perhaps the dealer can, turn it off through their computer.

I wasn't directing that towards you I was assuming the op was a v4s owner sorry

EBC can definitely be turned off on the V4R, I Raced mine this past weekend and had it off....It can also have the ABS completely turned off on the front tire, Did this also..

How did you do it? All I see is level 1, 2, or 3. I have bypassed my ABS but software shows front only. What am I missing?

I have to ask.... Why not post it publically so the answer is out there for all of the members here?

Don't know if the R is different from the S

but in the S

you go in the SETTING MENU

Into EBC and there is 1,2,3 and OFF

you can't turn it off from the quick menu

What are the reasons that you want to change engine breaking? Is it all personal preference or to save brakes? I've always been told in tracking cars and on the street that brake pads are cheaper than engine parts.

Engine brake doesn’t have to do with engine wear, or with pad wear

Engine brake is to help stop the bike

What we want is the most amount of braking, by the rear tire, and that is EBC 1, or EBC OFF

It mostly apply to track riding, but it can apply to any situation as well

Arent you transferring more energy back into the powerplant with increased engine braking? Its basically using the compression of the motor to slow the rear wheel down

Talking about engine you use 5% of the engine, while doing this

If you want to know what wears with this, is the rear tire

But tires are ment to be used for stopping

Looking for all the help we can find, to stop the beast
