Hello all,
I had been messing around with my Melco-Diag weeks ago(trying to learn) and had not ridden the bike since. I decided to ride it to work today and noticed that the Evo Racing no longer flashes across the dash at start-up.... any ideas?

I do have the UPMap USB stick, do I just need to reload it to the bike?

Thanks,
-John

No one else?

*EDIT*. Meant to add, I do not have the UpMap stick to reload, previous owner did not provide it. Also, I did have the ECU and the black box disconnected when I installed the carbon electronics holders as well. I doubt that would have any negative effect, just wanted to add that information.

No ;-)
What did you "mess around" with in Melcodiag ?

Have you tried to disconnet the batterie for 5 min and then connect it again ?
Just simply confirmed that I had all the correct hardware and that the software program would connect with the bike.

I have not tried the battery disconnect, I’ll try that..

Thanks,
-John

The black box/electronics unit in the tail section of the bike.
Ah.... the BBS box :) Thought i maybe was the Up map stick

And I always don´t know whats have gone wrong !!!
But I can not see I should have anything to do with Melcodiag.
You could maybe ask the same question in the JPdiag forum -> JPDiag :: Index

When you drive the bike, do it feels different ?

Honestly, I.don’t ride it enough to know for sure but from what I can tell from the seat of my pants is that I don’t really notice any difference...

This happened to my 1199 as well, although i have no idea if its related to using melcodiag or something else. I just noticed my evo racing stopped showing up. I had an extra upmap as well, loaded it, and it eventually disappeared as well. During that time, I didnt touch the bike with Melcodiag. When I tried to load the upmap again, it said the upmap is already used. so that was a waste.

Interesting.... there seems to be no rhyme or reason to this happening. The input does confirm/suggest that I have not been the only one to experience this issue now leads me down the path to resolving it... Although I am not very hopeful as it seems anyone that has experienced this issue has not been able to come up with a reason or repair either. :(

I saw your post earlier today on FB. I now find myself with the same issue. I used the UpMap that was provided with my bike to that I can try to reload it, but the UpMap drive has 'stock' written on it. So I'm apprehensive to connect that. My bike has the Ducati supplied full Akra system on her. I'm reaching out to the former owner to see if he has the other UpMap knocking about.

Still hoping to find an answer/resolution ...

Thanks,
-John

The only way I can change my mapping to the racing map is to take into to my dealer and have them connect their system and change it. The UpMap key have is from the 1299 that my Akra came from and as such, my 1199 won't recognize it. I always thought that the maps were stored on the UpMap key. I was wrong. The UpMap is truly a key that allows you to access the maps already stored on the bike.

i have a 1199 and i have this problem...i connect to melco to do it reset gear and i lost the map-racing------i send to jpdiag and tell me
that I always have to do back up the map with stick
there are many cases like me who lost the program for exhaust....

So is JP saying that a person should “un-install” the map from the bike back on to the usb stick before connecting to the bike via Melcodiag, and then reinstall the map from the usb back to the bike after a person is done using Melcodiag?

Thanks,
-John

Λοιπόν, η JP λέει ότι ένα άτομο πρέπει να "απεγκαταστήσει" τον χάρτη από το ποδήλατο πίσω στο usb stick πριν συνδεθεί στο ποδήλατο μέσω Melcodiag και, στη συνέχεια, επανεγκαταστήστε τον χάρτη από το usb πίσω στο ποδήλατο αφού τελειώσει η χρήση ενός ατόμου Melcodiag;

Ευχαριστώ,

yes...this is the good job...

Ugh.... I’m honestly surprised that there is no “warning” or “heads up” of this issue on The JP/Melcodiag website if this is the way it should be done. There have to be a lot of people who have ended up in this situation if this is the procedure I would suspect....

Anyone know of a way to “recover” the Evo Racing map that has disappeared??

Thanks,
-John
