Evotech tail tidy

Mmm yes seems like the finish is a lot better, however how difficult is it to hide the wires? Would have been a nice touch, go to all that effort and you still have the wires showing? Shame really.

I thought the same but I'm wondering if you cant run the wires on the other side of the tail tidy so that they were between the bikes tail and the bracket? It looks like you could do something to hide them a little better. I'm also thinking that you'd have to be crouched down good to actually see the wires but you'd still know they were there right? I think the DP one in CF looks good but is still to big and pushes the plate out to far and at a funny angle. I'm going for the Evo!!

Yes if I didn't have the R&G I'd go for the Evo one, but not much in it, well not enough for me to go buy the evo now.

I think these (DP, R&G, Evotech) are all roughly the same, variations on a theme, minus some details. I really want to see one that relocates the plate further underneath the bike, a la comp werkes 1198 version, with a turn signal relocator too for a completely clean tail section. I have the DP one on order, but might switch if a company will come out with one like the comp werkes 1198 one.

This, are these legal outside the US? They're only quasi-legal here I think, but I never had an issue with law enforcement on my bike. This is not mine, but is representative of how mine modified:

that's exactly the design i am going for to REALLY piss off my friends in europe, where even a deviation of the proper angle can become problematic...

You'd be shot at the road side in the UK for that!! Joking of course but you are on dangerous ground with a smaller plate let alone changing the angle and position.

I have fitted the R&G BTW and like it, yes could be neater I guess but massive improvement over the original.

Just be aware that while speaking to Evotech today I discovered that they can't get the Ducati connectors used for the lights. You'll therefore need to cut the connectors off the end of the current cable to the number plate light (not sure about the indicators) and solder it on the new one, or use the supplied bullet connectors. Not a big deal, but its not plug and play and you won't be able to just refit the orginal (ugly) plate hanger.

On balance this is the best one so far. Evotech have made 75 so far, but 39 are already sold - get in quick when they go on sale!

I got email from them today saying they're making 75 on Friday and so will be on sale Saturday. I also asked about tidying up the wiring by running it underneath the bracket and not as shown in picture but no reply yet.

Looks better than the R&G. Even though the stock plate holder is butt ugly, I think I'm going to hold out to see what others produce. If I'm correct, there are only three to choose from right now.

OK; this is very nice tail tidy and I will probably end up getting it...
BUT
US $236; I mean really, for something that holds my licence plate?
It's not as bad as Ducati wanting $130 bucks for a chain adjustment tool that should come with the bike; but aren't you starting to feel like just because you have bought a Ducati you have a big sign on your back that says "sucker with deep pockets"?
Welcome to the Ducati family, indeed. Come right in, step right up, have I got a deal for you!

Four I believe - DP, R&G, Evotech and Tamburini (see link in post #7)

You have to do that with the R&G one too, seriously, if I can do it anyone can, is real simple and it's only the small wire for the small number plate light, the indicators all remain in tact, if you use the original ones of course.

Aargh! figures My R&G one arrived Tuesday and will be installed Saturday, so today I see Evo Tech one and like it better. :-(
