Evotech tail tidy

SPM, this looks like really nice work but you're gonna have to write a "how to" and let us know where we can get the LED's. I'm always impressed how people can spend circa $30k on a bike and then cut it up - wish I had the balls!!!
And that photo of the sanded down tail section on top of the Ferrari - priceless!!!! Can you not get an HD camera?? ;)

I used my Iphone for the pics:) The led's are from autoshack, cuting and sanding the tail piece was very time consuming but turned out pretty well. Its a pretty easy process once you get a plan in mind. I changed my mind several times. I dont think a bike like this should have turn signals sticking out like they do, so I tried the leds and liked that result. SPM

nice work. I'd like to see a pic of the led strips you installed without the lights on. How do look inside the tail?

That looks real good man - very nice job. Where did you get the tail piece that you added on to cover the bolt holes?

That looks really good man! Looks like the standard so far! I'm definitely going to try to do the same. Specifically what did you use to fill in the holes on the sanded piece?

Auto body filler called Lord filler sets really fast tho. Any auto body place will have it. SPM

Interesting, was wondering when the Evotech one would be available! I have the R&G one currently as there is No way I'm riding around with that massive load of plastic on the rear completely destroying the awesome look! However you are right the R&G one is a bit cheap looking, but does the job, and as for the DP one, well forget it, have you seen the horrible angle it sticks your number plate up at! And is just as long as original one, however is use full for the regular track goer, as is easier to put on and off. Although if you tend to go on the track that often then I would imagine you'd have a dedicated track bike?

I just fitted the Ducati factory tail tidy and it looks great. Took a while though lots of little screw do undo.
Its half the length of standard.

I asked the dealer to not bother installing the mirrors (or the passenger pegs). The mirrors just ruin the bike. I used a bar end mirror like yours. (Silver looks better I think than black). Screw front signals. Not going to bother. The rear signals work fine without them too.

Just finished installing the Evotech.
Bit fiddly to build up but looks the dogs nads :)
The hardest part was finding an Allen key long enough to go down through the cowl lock support down to the front 2 bots holding the assembly to the bike.
Getting the indicators into the housing was fun too. Washing up liquid onto the rubbers worked a treat.

Now I just need to wait for my smaller, slightly less legal number plate to arrive.

Also a nice Oberon gold glass tax disc tube as now I have nowhere to fit it lol.

Fitted mine yesterday. Does indeed look good. Did you just leave the excess wiring in the space for the tools? There's no space for it between the tail tidy and the subframe as with stock. I'm going to see if i can re-route/shorten the cabling to get it out of the way. The instructions are a bit weak, but not to difficult to figure out.

Going to hunt for somewhere to fit the tax disk holder this morning. I'll let you know if I find a good location.

Same as.
Excess wires tucked nicely where the toolkit used to go.
The Oberon tax disc holder will seat nicely where the pillion bolts are.
There's a pic somewhere on here fitted. Looks trick.

My Evo tail tidy has been held up by those nice NYC customs people  arrived in the US on the 10th. Do they not know I'm riding around on a bike that if caught by the fashion police I'd be locked away for years?? Anyone know the mayor and could put in a good word for me?

Could someone take a pic of the underside, I'd like to see how the wiring goes. I had an evotech on my rsv4 and was never really happy with the wires.

Also, can anyone that's installed verify that you don't have to cut the turn signal wires if you're using the original turn sigs, ie only the number plate light is cut?
