Soooo, tell me about the available exhaust options? I have read a lot hear about the various aftermarket exhausts, their horsepower gains and how they sound. What I am interested in learning are some of the physical differences. What are the header tube diameters? Is the shape of exhaust the same? Are the internal tubes of the mufflers different diameter? Is their path the same? Termi, Akra, Duc versions like the R and the SBK? Any education you could give me would be great appreciated.
Thanks
Brett

Depends what you are looking for?

If you look on here and search Akrapovic you will find alot of recent discussion as people are buying and fitting them ready for Spring/Summer season including myself.

Personally I have gone for the titanium Akrapovic full system but not yet fitted it. I'm changing from an S to an R in March so it will go straight onto that. First impressions though it is incredibly light when compared to Termis. Power wise I can't say yet but from what I can gather it's good/better and really helps smooth out the midrange people keep whining about.

If you want to stay Ducati look through their accessories catalogue as they have made some recent additions including a race header pipe, but bare in mind the majority of it is still stainless and still heavy.

Have a look about, there's plenty of information on here. Try looking for this thread, it's very helpful:

Wow, great thread on the Apra. Brad, we have built most of our own exhausts and was wondering what improvements were bad to find any more power. The limited space makes major changes impossible, but wondered if increasing tubing diameter was an improvement. I just bought a set of used base cans to dissect and may make a set of one off cans to experiment with.

I reckon it all depends upon what you're trying to achieve.
More information would be required I think.

That's why I originally asked why do you want to know??

If you're after the best outright result in terms of power.
I would say that the Akra might be the way to go, seeing as DUCATI have themselves fitted the Akra to the SL.
I think if you're after the best value for money in terms of ride-ability and power improvements in the midrange, combined with simplicity. Then the Termi Slip-ons will be the way to go.

Then again if you want to .... around, the way Phill is going might yield great results with his cored stock exhaust.

Also.
Austin racing makes a great basis for an interesting option.

There is no 186 mph limiter on the Panigale. The dash doesn't read higher then 186mph but the bike makes power all the way to the rev limiter in 6th gear.

so whats the ACTUAL top speed? I mean obviously there are variables; rider weight, mods etc. But what is the estimated "Limit"
