If you bring a trailer, you'll want to bring both bikes. The Supermoto for Deal's Gap and the 1199 for the Cherohala Skyway and Blue Ridge Parkway.

I'll be at the Gap this Saturday-Thursday. I'll straighten out the roads for ya'll.:p

I'll keep an eye out for you. Where are you staying?

I'll be staying close to Fontana Dam in a rental with some buds. One of which has a white Tuono. Not many Panigales riding with Tuonos I'm guessing.

Have fun gman74, I was supposed to have gone up with some buddies last week but our plans got skewered at the last minute.

So any update on room rates and availability? I so want to make this.

I'll be out and about.. Either on a Blue 1st Gen FZ1 or Black CBR600RR. possibly the hyper, if the tool for the fork caps ever arrives so I can change seals.

You can usually locate me by asking at the crossroads, and My wife (and me some) will be out with the Womens Sportbike rally group at Fontana.

Change the date to oct 17 through 24 I will be there, been going there for 10 years twice a year have house there I am a distant local I know great rides

More info?

Can I get some more info on this? I'm about 3 hours away from The Gap and looking to attend.

This is what I heard the ride is like...

Bumping this one up for visibility.

I've just confirmed with Two Wheel Inn that they have 4 rooms left for Oct 9, 10, 11. So if you're coming and you haven't made reservation yet, better make the call and get it done.

Fall is prime riding season in N.GA/Western N.C.

If you've already made reservation and plan on showing up for the party, post here. We can share phone #'s via PM so we can contact each other.

If you want to come but are having trouble finding a room, post here. The rooms at Two Wheel Inn all have 2 beds so easy enough to split a room with people that want to come.

Two Wheel Inn phone # is 828-479-4248
Their website is Two Wheel Inn 828-479-4248 | Accommodations for you and your motorcycle, Located on US129, south of Robbinsville NC near the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway.

It's a great place to stay. Private motorcycle garage for each room with remote control access (so you don't have to worry about someone messing with your ride at night), great staff with friendly people, and just a few quick miles from some of the greatest riding roads available in North America.

Hope to see you guys there!!

Charlie, did you get a room rate for the group? Do I need to reference something when I call?

Thanks

Thanks

Jeff,

No special room rate. But Linda said they'd put us in adjacent rooms if anyone identified as being with the Ducati group.

If cost is an issue (and Two Wheel Inn is not only a nice place but it's pretty cheap), there is a second bed in the room I have. Welcome to stay there (though I'm trying to get Scorpio to at least come up from Atlanta for one night on Saturday).

Thanks Charlie. May be bringing one or 2 friends along. Need to confirm ASAP.

i might have to back out (even though i never officially confirmed), my left thumb won't move properly right now and i still have bruises on my forehead (helmet padding), right shoulder and lower right leg. plus my gear is pretty wadded up, so is the race bike...

Turn 8 at CMP is not my friend any more.

My sympathies.

T13 there was the place I had my worst race crash. Wadded up the TZ250. Broke collar bone (2 places), broke 6 ribs, and cracked shoulder blade. Took the ambulance ride.

Btw, if by some unfortunate circumstance you find yourself being put in the ambulance there at some future date, make damn sure they're taking you somewhere besides Camden.

Heal up. I'm expecting you to make us proud at the GNF.

@phil - ouch! But we're over 4 weeks out, so no pass without adverse x-rays... ;)

Thanks for the bump and room info, Charlie; I'm booked at TWI for one night on Friday the 10th, so I hope to get some of Friday and most of Saturday in with you guys.

Looking forward to it!

Excellent. Will be good to see you again. Didn't get a chance to spend much riding time last May up there. Shouldn't be as wet (and cold).

I'll send a note to Jim to make sure he knows we're showing up. I'm sure he'll want to spend some time riding.
