Its not the Head mate, its the sub frame.

I'm about the same height as you and my legs goes nowhere near the head but they do rest on the frame.

H, the kit comes with adhesive and a few heat reflective strips. Just put the strips in and use the adhesive to stick them on

Thanks Kev,

I don't think mine comes with the heat strip or the adhesive, that's why I was asking what was used.

I have read its an RVT silicon?

H

Yep it's the black RVT adhesive H. The left hand side is a little tricky to get on I loosened the rear subframe to get more space as it sit really close to the shock.

I have found riding in the heat of Oz it is better to wear thongs with your shorts rather than shoes.

The cool wind between your toes counterbalances the blisters on your inner thighs.

Guess I'm considered an Old Timer now. I recall back in 2012 when the first batch of 1199s started coming in and these heat threads started going up like mad! For you fellow old time originals - do you guys remember my infamous "Use the damn SEARCH button!!" Lmfao!!

Ahh the good ol days when a new model brought so many new discoveries. :) Don't worry Wolf. You will soon find the way to deal with the heat like the rest of us my man! Best wishes to ya!

I got the updated HS installed and its 90% better - stil umming and arrring on the ceramic coat - at this stage not sure I want to do it. As she sits now its much better than it was.

Just changed my front sprocket to a 14t (-1). Seemed to help it quite a bit. Pretty cheap mod to all in all. I think like $130 for part and labor.
ALso, go the Throttlemeister to help with the wrist pain on longer trips. That thing is worth it's weight in gold. $180.

I'll need to check my HS and see if it need to be replaced. Subframe cover will be ordered. This is my first Ducati so I'm learning as I go. :)
