Two nice days came up and i decided to take the bike out for the first time. I got to put 432 miles in, all on back roads. It rained the two days before hand so most of the rocks and cinder were off the road. Man is this bike fun and i haven't even taken it past 6000 rpm. I got a chance to take a picture next to my favorite fishing spot, and show off one of Washington Pa's many covered bridges.

I ordered a ducati battery maintainer and went to look for the diagnostic cable under the passenger seat but it was no where to be found. I took the tool kit out and its completely empty in there. The only plug in i found is on the left side next to the fairing.

Can anyone tell me what this is for and should the diagnostic plug be under the passenger seat in the hole with the tool kit?

That looks like the standard tender plug. The diagnostic cable is in the little hole under the passenger seat, you may need to fish it out under the rider seat.

That's the new tender plug for use with the latest chargers.

I believe their being fitted by more dealers these days.

You should have this (yellow plug) if you look close:

Get them to swap it for what you wanted - I personally don't like external tender plugs.

If i cant find that plug does the Ducati maintainer plug into a standard tender plug? And, if it does, are there any benefits of plugging it into the diagnostics port rather than the tender port? It arrives tomorrow so i cant check myself at the moment.

European motorcycles of pitt fits all of the 1199s with that connector for a battery tender. i ended up removing mine since i ride it often enough for it never to be a problem and by the time next winter rolls around i will have a shorai battery so no tender needed.

Is your bike fitted with a diagnostic port? I can't find mine where Xbox has it pictured.
