Dealer called me today, my 1299s is finally here. I will probably have the first one in the united states. Picking up this weekend If I can find some free time. Am so Psyched :D

Really? First in the US? Wow, I thought they had a few shipments out already there and had rolled a few.

Congrats though! Good luck sleeping for the next couple of nights!

Oh hells yes. Thank you for the heads up. I have been so eagerly waiting. Good to hear things are moving along.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... In the meantime, I will be lucky to see mine in two weeks time. You East coast guys... :D

But for real, congratulations; I am utterly jealous. For the love of God, please post up a nice long review when you ride it... I'm dying over here.

I just got the "ok" from my salesman to do a video log of the entire process from uncrating to the final build. I will also do a thorough review on the street and on the track and will post a Youtube link on the forum!

I am curious did you dealer let you know before hand it was coming or was it just out of the blue? I am trying to find ways to hold onto hope for mid April.

I am totally hoping for mine to be here next week... This is crazy. Like counting the sleeps until Christmas kind of crazy.

I'm kind of worried that I will scream like a little girl in front of the whole dealership staff, when I first see the bike.. :D

Nice! Whart made you go with the "S" instead of the base? Out of curiosity?

In my situation, I put a $5000 deposit down and financed the rest. The finance guy quoted me a monthly price over 5 years. I was calling in to check on status and he asked "was that 5 or 6 years that you wanted to go?" I said "make it an "S" and 6 years if you can keep the payment within $15/month".

So basically it just worked. I'll be lucky to get 2 track days a year, so I'm sure that the Ohlins will be a bit of a waste. Gotta love the LEDs and forged rims though.

I have been through quite a few bikes and have been riding for quite some time, but realistically I doubt I'll be in a position to wring this thing out 100% on anything other than a pretty long straight. We'll see how much better my lap times are on this than other bikes along the way.

Oh. And resale should be a bit better (as a percentage or ratio) on the "s"

Wrong!

The higher the SRP the higher the writeoff! You'll lose 30% after the first year of ownership. On a 60k$ SL this means 20K$ whereas on a 20k$ base model it means 6k$.

Had a 2012 Base which I bought for 20k$CAN and sold for 16,5k$ 2 years later with 18k km. Picked up a demo '13 for 19,5k$ with 1,5k km for a bit over 3k$ all taxes in.

With the private market here, I've seen the demand curve affect the prices in resale in a similar way to what I had stated. Let's say a $20k base bike sells for $13k and a $25k "s" sells for $16k, although no matter what I'm losing more money, as a percentage I am not.

'Not saying you're incorrect in your statement at all, just another way to justify it for me :)

1299s wait

With the weather like this it makes waiting so much harder
