Has anyone had this happen to them with the soft compound Diablo Supercorsa SP V2? cannot believe this has happened after only 200 miles on the road! It was only a paper staple and could not have been in deeper than 3-5mm and really surprised it caused a puncture. To make matters worse, my tyre dealer has told me Pirelli are out of stock and do not expect more until September! What with the pants weather we are having in Europe and now this, I'm not having much luck since switching from the BMW SKRR back to Ducati.

Would love to know if anyone else has suffered a similar fate?

Blow it up on your wedding day?! is this some ducatisti ritual i've not yet heard of?

nah, but we can establish that, paint 2 circles into each other in the driveway.

did that also in front of the church on my mate's wedding, was a whole lot of fun!

As long as the nail was in a spot where the wires show, you could just put a tire plug in it and be fine. I was skeptical to put one in mine when I had my 848, but I got a nail in it and put a plug in it... lets just say it could handle very high speeds and corners well. After the excess is worn off it blends right in with the tire. Effectiveness 100%. Cost Benefit: $5 tire plug or $300 tire? You don't need to get the tire replaced if you use the plug that has rubber strips and rubber cement compound. That's the one I used. Works perfectly!

Got one last friday nite; out for a little ride with my buddies, after 20km a stone pierced the radiator on a Super Duke R, another 10 km later a puncture on my base Pani, a good size hole dead centre, had to be towed back home. Fixed with a cooked patch, trackday on monday and all is good.
