I forgot to add this disclaimer from the Ducati Owners Manual, "It is recommended not to install tires of different size than the ones approved for your vehicle. As far as tires are concerned, in the case of minor differences, such as for example, tires of different make and or model than OE ones, it is necessary to use the relevant automatic calibration function in order to restore correct system function".
This disclaimer is pepper through out the manual. Leave to a company to go into CYA mode. This is why I created this thread in the first place.
Who is actually racing a V4 and can provide feedback? As one member posted, no one is making rains in this size yet.

I'm finally getting used to the lean angles this bike can generate. Not to mention the fact that this is the FASTEST bike I have ever ridden. The South course at VIR has a fairly long straight that goes up hill, I was able to glance down at the speedo a few times and noticed 180 MPH before my braking point!!!! The bike seems very loose in the braking zones but this is probably due to the front static sag being off by 3mm and the fact that I was braking from 180 down to about 30-40MPH for a second gear off camber right hander.
The wheelie control was actually kind of funny, there's one point on the course where (for lack of a better term) the bottom drops out if I hit my apex properly before that point the front comes up about 2 feet while I'm behind the bubble! What an amazing bike. Sadly I was getting killed off the right hand corners due to a combination of wheel spin and TC.

Sadly, east coast seem to mostly clockwise track which makes it more rights... I prefer counter. Lol

I've been running Diablo Rosso Corsa IIs 200 55 17s for 1,000 miles. They were recommended by the dealer and we went through the tire calibration. Thus far there have been no issues and the bike handles great with these tires as well.

Thank you for letting me know. I have a second set of rims on the way. I plan to have the Diablo Rosso Corsa II's mounted for street/rain trackday use. Once I destroy my new setup of Supercorsa SPV3's I'm running slicks for the track.

I don't suspect you're going to get a lot of feedback from that perspective since the current V4 has fairly limited class eligibility AFAIK.

how are you getting 3000 miles out of a rear tyre with some of that on track?

I'm getting 500 miles out of a rear tyre and it's totally toast! I did 3x 15min sessions at Cadwell Park on a track evening and a couple of road runs and tbh it was spent with less than 400 miles on!

I did slightly better, 900 miles

Keep looking thru the forum. Based on the threads I think a few people are racing there V4s. I'd have to check the rulebook for WERA but I have a feeling there's an Unlimited Class that you can race the V4 in.

There are 3 classes, A Superstock, A Superbike and Formula 1. And if you are an old fart like me, Senior Superbike.

I'm not the most experienced track rider, but still, I'm not quite sure what constitutes "spent." To me, a tire is good as long as it isn't squared off, has some tread, and no cord is showing. This is my tire around 3500 miles. The hard middle compound is very prominent, definitely extends the life of the tire as a commuter. I am at just over 4000 miles now and will be replaced it with a Rosso Corsa II sometime soon I think.

Can't quite zoom in enough on that pic but it looks like some serious cold or hot tearing. Do you have a close up?

It is. Still figuring out the whole tire pressure situation when I go to the track, very new to it.
