Rick I think still is the fasted guy on Mosquito ridge on that bike or a multi with a rear slick, since the road turned to garbage and closed not sure he has had his SS out there. I never envy your drive to Thunderhill.my antique 1198n
Generally, slicks work at a higher temperature, and you will struggle to generate it on the road. Which means, the tyres will have less grip than a road tyre, which means you'll crash.
Road tyres tend to have higher silica (or, different chemical makeup atleast, to a slick). This means, they warm up almost instantly, and work at much lower temps.
We do Bucks lake a few times a year. I live off 49. I use the panigale for track only now, and am faster in the twistys on my multiOk how about 49. Nevada City to 89. Breakfast at Morning Thunder then Bucks lake? I'm going riding in the Trinity next week so it's on my way. I haven't decided what I'm riding probably one of my belt drives. My SFV4 is too long and porcine for the serious twisty bits.
How about Starbucks canyon? Sticky ass asphalt from all the caramel syrup spilled out from the big ass lattes!
