Forum Search broken?

Dear DF moderators, hi @duc @Phl,

Are you aware that many new threads are created because people simply can't find relevant threads by searching for it via the Forum search in the upper right corner?
As result, this creates many duplicate discussions worsening the already "all over the place" nature of our contributions.

How can this be improved "Google" style?

Hereby a few examples of our Forum Search vs. Google Search where 1st even denies(?!) relevant search word(s) yet Google does find these threads on this site(!) as top 10 result by using exact same query:

- V4 + manual without/ with result:

- DDA + GPS without/ with result:

Hmm let me think about this one…

There are some tricks for searching for those 3 letter acronyms, but let me see if I can find a better solution to accommodate different search strings.

@duc no need to reinvent the wheel here: can’t we ‘just’ integrate Google based Search logic?

Just look at both my examples and how effective Google Searches the whole web and still finds our Forum threads as top listed/ most relevant!

Imagine how much more relevant results we would get, if their algorithms only need to search our forum database instead…

Thanks for the reminder. We just moved to a new server 24 hours ago. New search function is coming too, works great for 3 letter words, etc.

I will try and have the new search live within 48 to 72 hours. Another update to follow.
