Full akrapovic warning

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

My dealer is asking for a separate service charge to install the Akrapovic on the Speciale.

Thats total BS but its ducati so im not surprised

After installing the akra, I had to sign 3 waivers from ducati specifying that I know it's for off road use only, won't sue ducati for any tickets etc, service according to "race schedule", etc etc. One waiver for me, one waiver for the dealer, one waiver for ducati.

Thats pretty serious for an exhaust lol

I think for liability reasons they can't include the exhaust install. If it comes pre installed without extra charge as a road legal bike, and you get ticketed, you may have a case against ducati. A transfer of consideration would prove that the owner did so willingly and deliberately.

I'm no lawyer but have been involved in many corporate litigation cases. This is all I can think of.

Ducati shouldn't have said the Speciale comes with the akro then.

Maybe pay for install and ask for $1000 credit for other items [emoji39]

I am guessing that you probably can't import a road vehicle that with factory installed components does not meet mandated exhaust gas and noise emissions.

Including a box of "closed course only" components keeps it street legal and worthy of import.

I assume of course, I don't actually know but it sounds reasonable to me

Sounds like BS... there was no extra charge to install the Termi slip-ons and upmap from my dealer when I bought my Tricolore. So why is it an extra now?

The Anniversarios all came with the Akra slip ons in a separate box, with the "stock" exhaust already fitted to the bike. Nothing new. Either install it yourself (that's what I did) or convince your dealer to do it for free since you just dropped 40k with them.

Take Listen it sounds Gooooood!!!

Ya she's going to be LOUD...

Stupid question..... why is the bottom of his bike so exposed??? Does the stock bottom fairings & belly pan not fit back on once the akro is installed?

In the second vid he mentions there were incorrect parts shipped. He's still waiting for them. Stock parts are a no go.

So apparently the Speciale's come with the race exhaust in the box just like you get with the 1299SL - The kit will have the block off plates, plate eliminator etc..

Then there is a labour charge to get it all fitted- Not sure how long it takes to get fitted, but I'd say another $800 in labor..

I guess since it's a race exhaust, it can't come out of the factory and be road legal. So it's up to the user to fit.

Someone said its a billable 8 hours to install the full exhaust system.

Finally cleaned for a decent picture.
