Full Akro Too Loud!

This may sound strange to you, but I bought a slightly used 1299 with a "Full Akropovic" exhaust and it is just too loud for where I ride and when I ride. Don't get me wrong, I love it. However, I ride early in the morning on Sundays in the canyons of Southern California and quite frankly, this thing is so loud I can't ride like I want because I'm too busy keeping the pipes as quiet as I can.

I suspect any db killers have been removed, but I don't know what to look for; it is damn loud.

What are my options? I've seen stock mufflers on Ebay. Would they fit? Can I buy something like a DB Killer for these Akro mufflers?

Thank you for tolerating this strange request.

I have the OEM full Akra system from a 2014 Pani R, much quieter than the aftermarket Akra system. Will happily swap with you! ;)

I just have the stock 1299 R Akro on mine and its definitely loud. I literally can't ride the bike without ear plugs, which I'm fine with. Keeping it legal in the state of Cali myself.

Crest is my favorite ride still, I just make a point to be the first one up the mountain at sunrise to avoid all of the morons.

I have the race exhaust on my 1299R FE and definitely loud. But not an annoying loud to me. An amazing sound. But I'm bias. I do wear earbuds but that's also for music and for a bit of isolation when riding. It does keep me off the throttle at times given the environment as I am aware of how loud it is. Which could be good for my license. Lol

Agreed. Sage advice. California is getting tough regarding modified exhaust and now has a fine of $1000 regardless of noise level! BTW, I also have earbuds with my music in them...I think they're called S-plug-buds or something: love them.

I ordered the baffles and will try them out. Hopefully it will keep me under the radar so to speak.
