I'm thinking of getting the full six monocoque carbon sub frame for my track bike but am a little hesitant because I'm 250lbs. With gear. Any feedback or experience with this product would be great.

What would be the goal you wish to achieve in doing this??

Looking for carbon race tail to eliminate stock lights and really like the look of this kit. Not sure if I will be able to feel the claimed 12 pounds savings over stock sub frame but figured it couldn't hurt. The guys at opp racing claim they have 225lbs test riders and they don't have any problems.

I've got a brand new Shiftech Matte carbon fiber subframe for sale in the classifieds at a decent discount off MSRP.

Carbon is pretty strong stuff believe it or not.

I have fitted a motoholders alloy sub frame to my bike . Fits great and under $500.

Looks trick mate. Like the gold wheels and the custom graphics too. Is it lighter than stock ? And is it a race fit only or can you put the street taillights in etc ?

cheers

Very nice indeed... I was hoping to swap mine on the 899, however I found out that you have to either use the 1199 tank or perform some modifications to the stock tank, but I do not know to what extent.

2.75 lbs is a decent weight savings vs the stock aluminum frame on the 1199, but it is very significant if replacing the steel trellis frame on the 899.

I was at the EICMA show in Milan and Fullsix are about to release a road going version of the sub-frame. It features a removable panel where you would normally find the OEM under-tail part that sits under the rear tail light. This panel is available in two versions, street or track. You simply swap one for the other to convert it as appropriate. The street version of the panel lets you bolt up the number plate and indicator assembly. The track version is just a plain panel that bolts to the underside of the subframe with no apertures. Very slick and the best of both worlds. Here is a pic I took of it on their stand

Likewise to Wilkson, I have the motoholders rear subframe on my 1199 track bike... Substantively lighter than OE

I love the full six tail. If I'm lucky I'll only low side and not destroy the whole thing at once.

Here is another picture of the new street sub-frame. You can see the bolts (two either side and one in the centre) that hold on the detachable panel which can be switched for a track version if needs be. The number plate/tail tidy bolts to the subframe through this panel as per the normal OEM set-up. Obviously if you switch to the track version this is blanked off.

Had a look at the link and the site tells you nothing. Just says "No Data" If you are looking for weight reduction this is an important fact.

IIRC correctly when I looked at the one they had at EICMA it weighed around 1.5-2kg. The only downside with it, is that there is no provision to bolt the heat shield to it for the rear exhaust, as there is on the stock aluminium sub-frame. That's the only reason I'm reluctant to fit one.

No good then for the akra on my bike as it bolts into the pillion peg holes.
