on the menu for 2013:

should be a good year. :)

I am envy of you!:D

I was talking about the R!!!

but BMW HP4 is a awesome buy, if you dont mind the ugliness! but thats another topic. :D

have you seen the hp4 carbon in person? its not ugly at all. whatever they did and i know its just a paint job and carbon but for some reason you dont notice the ugliness like the regular s1000rr. and its 25k all in

I have not seen it in person yet. I do have some experience with S1KRR. Everything looks not bad except the the front. I just cant get over the headlights. Does the look so bad that I wont get the HP4 if I had the money? I would still get it because I think its a great bike and awesome price.

....We'll see what Ducati comes out with in the next couple of years. I don't think they will do a 1098 to 1198 jump, that was more them just chasing the SBK rules back then. I think future bikes will come with Skyhook-style active suspension as that's the near future and the DES will be leaps and bounds better than now. 175+ rwhp is going to be enough for a while, except for the barstool-racers. I really think they will refine the bike with what they learn from SBK racing and based on what BMW does with their S1000RR, that's the main competition in marketing terms.

I was thinking about this driving home today. I think you have about nailed the future of the "superbike" in general. I've been around long enough to know that progress never stops even when you think it can't get any better. But it really is going to be difficult to put much more hp to the ground, and there is probably not much more in the way of weight savings except very incremental gains using carbon fiber and such. I do think suspension tuning will continue to improve.

"Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility" will kick in sooner or later . I always went for the ride it now and sell it later to get a newer one

I'll keep mine for the being, ride it and track it as time allows, then trade it in or sell it when Ducati comes out with the 1000cc V4 bike that the 1199 should have been.

That is true. DAMN IT:mad:

I plan on paying mine off this winter and probably buying a R in the spring. Might turn my base into a track only bike who knows, I will have both though... At least that's my plan.

I think i am going to do the exact opposite with my Tri!
