lol I just added the T800 with the Mtorque map and its fantastic. It's so good that I'm going to take -1 out of the rear right now I have 15/45 and will go to 15/44
Nice, Mtorque map? is that available separately?

Well yesterday was the gar day And I swapped the gearing to the full 520 set up. it dropped just about 2 lbs and I added three to the rear. i went for a short ride and it fells better for sure. I like the change so far and will get out and ride more today to really fell it.

What brand sprocket and chain did you go with?

I went with the EK 3D chain. I run them on all my bikes. Went with the 520 and super sprocket 15/45. Feels fantastic and dropped 2.5 lbs off from stock when I also used the AEM hub and titanium Cush drives.

With 15F/45R can you use the standard chain or is it too short? That is +3 teeth rear compared to OEM.

I went with the Superlite kit, 14/43, poly & titanium cush drives and quick change sprocket. It's all Pani fitment btw, and the Superlite carrier is non-directional (OCD thing). Still waiting on Ti sprocket nuts and black hub nut retainer, but with the black CNC hub nut it looks amazing. Should be a riot with the shorter gearing.

All Ducati are geared too long.
Go +2R or -1F if you don't want to buy a new chain.
On that note, why would anyone want a weaker 520 chain on a 200 hp street bike?

Every team in WSBK runs 520 chain all season- if those guys can't break them, none of us can. Taking away 3.5# of reciprocating & unsprung mass (in my case, measured) will help anything in a positive way, and the ability to easily change gearing is a nice side effect. Kept 525 on my Diavel, even though I dropped a tooth on the front, because the torque hit on that bike was insane and it was all about hard launches... that's the cool thing about tinkering with these machines, you can do as much or as little as you like to make it suit your preferences

It's not about the fear of breakage, it's about longevity. A 520 will not last as long as a 525 width. WSBK don't run for 20,000 kms on road grime.
I've changed the gearing on all my Ducati as I could seldom use 6th gear. Furthermore, the shorter gearing really facilitates stop-n-go situations as you don't have to slip the clutch as much.
Moreover, the shorter gearing on the track is not as much for acceleration but to avoid having to down-shift significantly near the end of the straightaway entering the curve.
Consequently, -1F will do fine as many of the guys here don't want to spend on a new chain and rear sprocket.
I agree with you about personal mods...whatever turns our crank is "anything goes" as long as it makes us happy.

Agreed- if you aren't at the limiter in 6th on a track then it is overkill for sure, there is definitely no situation on public roads where it is necessary! I could see the taller gearing for touring maybe, but shorter gearing has always made the bike easier to ride but more responsive at the same time, at least for my type of riding. You shouldn't have to lug 1st in a tight corner.

Removed the 45 rear and installed the 44. Just need the recalibrate the ratio in the ecu then give her a rip. I know it’s not a huge change but I already had the rear gear so I figured what the heck.

I have the Termi exhuast and MTorque map too...the gearing and map make it perfect for me...with wheelie control set at 3 the front cones just a little up in every gear on and hard pull even with my fat ass on the bike hahaha

I’m actually using 6th gear now too.

I think raised the torque by about 13% with the 14/44 new final drive.

plus the UpMap

gunna try the Brenntuning Breenspeed map soon will let you know how that goes

First track day with shorter gearing, Austin Racing GP3 exhaust, Sprint Filter, and OFT Stage II mapping, along with tons of controls changes. Also with the suspension dialed. Though I still don't have complete confidence in the downshifts, they work some of the time but not at crucial moments like 5th gear at 140 coming into a 3rd gear turn.. slipper clutch did it's job for sure.
Last time out (bike was literally off the showroom floor), I couldn't bust out of the 150s and I'm sure my lap times were considerably slower.
This was at HPR, a very fun 2.55 mile circuit in Colorado, on stock tires. Destroyed my right knee puck and had a blast.
