I'm somewhat surprised nobody has mentioned Deals Gap.
Back in the 90's you could ride all day and not see another bike.
The posted speed limit was also 55.
See Phil's vid in post 33; might look a bit familiar.
And he's right about the other roads; my usual route to the Gap is this way:

Think Nurburgring Nordschleife strung out end to end, but 80Km long, and you won't be far off. Can recall doing it on a late afternoon or two and seeing no more than 5-6 cars the whole way; endless sweepers, over 4,500 ft of elevation change, killer views.
