Heading out for Sunday morning ride, approx 5 miles after I set off and still in warm up mode the bike sounded very rough! Thought I had lunched the motor!
Pulled over to take a look at the bike and the exhaust down pipe had cracked clean through!
(Bike is 3 months old and has done 3100 miles)

Looks like a new down pipe needed! Wondering if I should replace the standard down pipe with the Akrapovic Downpipe? Will it fit the the stock slip ons or will it only fit Akrapovic slip ons?!

Not good! Warranty claim, obviously. Can recommend the full Akrapovic system. Not sure it works with standard cans though.

In 20 years of motorcycling, that's a first for me.

I'd get the dealership to replace it under warranty no matter what your aftermarket exhaust plans are. I doubt the Akrapovic downpipe is compatible with the stock pipes. I think there are slight differences between the angles and diameters. Of course, this is just going off of memory from when I installed my full system. I didn't directly compare the two.

I would guess a poor weld was the cause. Rest assured the TIG welds on the Akrapovic system are beautiful.

Now I have a better excuse to get a full Akra system :stock is a safety concern :)

Its not white. Thats the reflection of the light. Look at the shadow and position of the sun. Prob hot as hell and some fuel coming out of the bottom hoses. What are the odds BOTH bikes are screwed up at the same time. Has to be a common between them to do it.

Chillo,

Now is the time"¦.What you should do it get it warranty replaced at the dealer, but when they have the bike apart under warranty to replace the pipe, tell them you want the Akra installed instead. Save a ton of money because its apart under warranty anyway..Shouldnt matter to the dealer what they put back on it, Ducati paid to have it replaced/disassembled regardless.

if the fuel and fuel tanks are hot, and the charcoal canisters are removed, the vents will pee gasoline or at least lots of gasoline vapor, as designed.

It's oil thats getting blown out thru the crankcase breather, up into the air box, then down a drain tube to "mark its spot"

It has been happening to mine the 2015 Panigale-R, and just the other day to the 2013 R (also in the picture foreground)

The common between them...for the moment...is that they 'were' both mine, i just sold the 2013R to a friend, and the 2015 is mine.....thankfully sold "as is" has meaning :D

ask dealer to heavily discount akro and use repair bills to install said akro pipe...

Hey, what are you still doing here on the forum? Did you get the Ferrari or a new bike?

The R has been awesome, except a few oil leaks haha.

So I had rear leak around 7500m, then front leak around 9300m. Now I'm dealing with another one which it looks like its from the sump. Its at the dealership now. I'll let you know.
My warranty expires in Jan, so I'm gonna purchase extended warranty. Other than that, the bike is a beast at the track.

Im dealing with a crank case breather issue - it seems that after taching up (more than a few times but no where near track usage), parked on the side stand, oil will dribble out..amount varies from 1 to 4ozs that drips to the pavement
