Header wrap

That pipe looks like it failed because it was wrapped. Embrittlement due to high heat. I'm surprised they would warranty those headers after being wrapped.

They were on a recall, but the Ducati dealer also wrapped the headers for another Panigale V4.
I am guessing that the wrap may have been a factor as the recalled headers had some weak areas but the new part is thicker.

Take home message: replace your header if you haven’t not. Dealer would do it fr free as is a recalled item

@mhaddad - Is that your bike, and if so is it a racebike? I'm all too familiar with hack job solutions in the pit! If that's a road going bike, you should be embarrassed.

You and your fancy ceramic coating!
I always went with the high heat black spray paint for the pressure washer and lawn mower.

do you have a professional coating person you trust?
Yes I love ceramic coatings. They work great to keep a part looking good as well as significantly reduce heat. I've used Top Gun coatings, Jet Hot, and Swaintech over the years. All have had excellent results. The way the pipe is heat shielded and the fact that it is plastic over the heat shield likely means the factory shielding is working pretty good and the bulk of the heat is not coming from the headers, but I figure every little bit helps.

Its going to be a shame to un-do the wrap job. I've also got a call into my dealer to see if there is any recall on the headers.

Did my 1199 headers with ceramic coating and it dropped the external temps significantly. That heat wound up burning up the Termi front exit packing a bit sooner, but again, you could actually put your hand near the pipes after the coating was applied both inside and out.

Dealer stated there is no header or exhaust recall for the V4S. Outstanding recalls on my bike: Fuel tank gas cap, suspension control flash for steering damper, and the quick shifter.

I wanted to use a carbon cover but was worried the heat would distort it badly without some additional heat shielding so I coated mine and also wrapped them as well on my 1199. It took both methods to get the heat down.
