I guessing riding the bike in 35degree C (95 degree F) doesnt really help and could be painful regardless of any superbikes..

Anyone rode the bike during night time or ambient temp lower than 30degree C(86 degree F) have any comments?

18 to 25 deg C it is not a major problem but over that it is uncomfortable, I would say this is the most disappointing aspect of the bike:mad:, if ceramic coating would help I think I would invest

It was 72 degrees F when I rode home 38 miles from the dealership last night in full leathers. Warm, but not uncomforatable.

FYI: I do not believe that we are dealing simply with exhaust heat. I believe that the furnace-like blast is from the radiators, oil cooler, engine and exhaust.

There will probably not be an easy fix for this, sad to say. Ducati seems to have reached the point of pushing the human comfort factor to the absolute limit.

I demo'd the bike for an hour at around 25C (77F) at a local (Czech) demo day. I got it hot so the heat was the issue from the get go. I was wearing full leather as I came to test on my 2002 R1. I have to say I was really really really glad to get back on my R1. While it was nice to toss 1199 around the corner the heat made the ride really uncomfortable. The test ride was mix of canyon/backroads with speeds 80-120MPH. Even then I felt the heat on inner thighs.

Other then that my R1 with aftermarket exhaust 'felt' as powerful and light as 1199 - the lack of torque under 7k was mind boggling.

The bike looks fantastic but the heat (primarily) and the power delivery made me not to make the purchase. I will be getting 2012 S1k instead.

P.S. I own Carbon Red Diavel and I love that bike. It's 170HP and the same L twin engine concept yet WITHOUT the heat problem. I just don't understand the reason of this piss poor thermal design they did with 1199.

Took it out for it's first ride tonight. only about half hour or so but enough time in traffic to hit 221, ambient temp 91. I've got to say the heat isn't as bad is it was on my rsv4 (on the rt. side gets very hot). Wasn't even close to being as bad as my 996, so I don't think this will be a big deal for me. FYI, only wearing draggin jeans.

I was out on a semi-chilly ride today, I thought to myself as my buns and legs started warming up, BMW may have heated grips, but we have heated seats :)

I can't yet say the heat is a major serious issue for me but it's not pretty. Just 7 minutes into my commute and it was plenty hot. I think some of us are more sensitive to the heat than others....unfortunately I am. I missed a stop light cycle and had to sit thru two lights and I thought I was just to jump out my seat from being roasted.

I'll do whatever it takes to alleviate the heat, rework the seat, buy leathers, whatever. I keep looking down expecting a fire (as someone said earlier) or I keep expecting to touch something with my leg and get burned....neither which is good, very distracting. It doesn't get any better even after riding. 90 degree day.

I think we all need to get a heat gun and measure our temps, I can't believe some people say the heat is not that bad if we are experiencing the same. I'm going to go sterile over this, lol.

I got stuck in a rain/hail storm in the mountains a couple days ago with the ambient temps around 60F and the heat coming off the seat was actually kinda nice. Honestly though, with leather pants on, the heat was not a huge deal even when we were at lower elevation and the temps were in the 80+F range.

Panigale Pizza

With all that heat under my seat, I have decided to convert my Panigale into a Pizza delivery vehicle. Fast and hot, although all the cheese is likely to be piled onto one side of the crust.

I think I've gotten use to it a bit now. It's still hot as hell but I try to avoid the stop and go traffic on the freeway. Hitting stop lights does not help but I don't really feel it too bad when sitting. It's when I get going again and the temp is 220 by the time light turns green.

Outside temp makes a difference, during the evening when it was cooler outside, didn't feel so bad. During the heat of the day, almost unbearable for me.

Thats hilarious! I've definitely gotten used to the heat. It can be a little uncomfortable at times, but it's not really an issue at all even in this warm weather lately.

x2 - I would say the exact same thing.

Make that x3

Despite the heat here, it's noticeably cooler on my legs etc since the termis have been installed. I had sort of decided not to take it into the city anymore but since the termis, heat's not really an issue anymore.

@iceman, what conflicting views, doc is agreeing with us ;)

yeah it was mentioned in the 'full termi's' thread. Re-reading it was a question whether it made more heat no one said yes....you guys have just answered sooner nations question plus convinced me 100% on the termi purchase :D

I like the carbon cover - full system it is! whether this works better than the standard on who knows?
