HELP! Need another bike!

I had exactly the same problem, needed a bike for the blast around town stuff, so bought the 821 Hypermotard and absolutely love it. I even use it for longer distance stuff where the weather looks a bit iffy and it's just fine.

Only issue is wind pressure above 100 mph, and anyone under 5' 10" will struggle as it sits very high (I believe there is a 20mm lower seat option but I don't think it will make enough difference).

I'm gonna try and verbalise my thoughts, as while I also search for a more accessible stable mate for the Tri, I find myself thinking about other aspects of riding a motorcycle.

So, what I'm wondering is how much does "accessibility" to riding simply correlate to how quickly I can just jump on the bike and ride, versus say getting in the car to pop down the shops.

To prep for a squirt on the 1199 = full face helmet + riding jacket + riding jeans + boots + gloves + ruck sack

To prep for a squirt on something "easier" = helmet + riding jacket + riding jeans + boots + gloves + ruck sack

So, my quite possibly largely rhetorical questions..

1) Is the 1199 that hard to ride down the shops?
2) Would I feel happy to suit up any less for a naked, SF or SM?
3) Would I be at any less risk on any bike other than say a 50cc scooter?

..... 4) Or do I just want a 2nd bike :p

Thoughts fellow riders?

I see a good point here.:D

I have the AMG as my second bike. Having the two sit side by side is all I could hope fore as both are quite different.

As far as time to get going, about the same however the Diavel is very user friendly in town. Both require a lot of clutch work but the Diavel with low end torque makes it perfect for this kind of riding. I find the more upright riding position on the Diavel better in traffic.

Not sure what I would do if I could only have one, but luckily that is not an issue.

The problem is mental. When on the 1199, I am laser focused of riding hard. When I mount somthing "softer" I have a more relaxed, "take it in" state of mind. The bike is part of the experience and in some ways defines it. If you have somthing that just begs to be pushed (1199) you push. when you ride somthing that displays a different character, you assume that character as well.

But as fate would have it, looking for somthing "softer" led me to an opportunity to own a D16RR with a high serial with 2450 on the clock with known ownership and service history.

Pulled that trigger. Now my neck hurts. And I will make it hurt again...

be man ride a vespa :D
