awesome!

I haven't opened the link. To be honest the reason is I don't care. For me it's pride of ownership that guides my motorcycle purchases. Pretty much always has been. I know that any decent bike out there has more capabilities than I have talent to exploit, so it comes down to which is going to make my heart beat a little faster when I walk into my garage. Who's dick is bigger doesn't interest me. Duke's are bit like Harley's with regards to you buy into a life style kind of thing with them.

I used to ride with a guy who'd pull up and recite chapter and verse of how he'd just read this was better than that, this was 0.89 seconds a lap faster than that, like he'd put all the latest mags into a blender with his morning orange juice and drank them all down. Then we'd head off for spin, him on his latest Bimota or what ever and have lads on beat up buckets of ..... blow him into the weeds.;)

I guess what I'm saying is do what ever floats your boat, its your buck, I just don't have any interest in playing that particular game.

The Panigale blows the wind up my skirt in every respect, ....... love it, it'll stay where it is until something else turns my head... more than likely another Duke.......:D

Dude this rant (in a good way) is absolutely oustanding my man! As an avid Duke fan of over 25 years i couldnt have said it better myself! And yes i said Duke NOT Duc because its not a DUCKATI and no im not gonna get into that whole pissing contest again either!

Thanks for the brand loyalty Flipper!

I'm sure BMW owners are probably less stuck up then us Ducati owners :p

Not trying to start a war here (or anywhere else for that matter).

They can be stuck up alright, just like anybody else. Some times even worse because they think they've made it in life with their aspirational brand B M W. They've just changed their old (leased) 5 series for a new 7 series and also packaged up a 1 series into the (lease) for the eldest boy's first car.
That's how good the cars are. They're not even worth owning. Lol.
All so the legitimate wage earner/tax payer on a low income can subsidise their life style while they look down their noses at anybody (including even family members) they perceive to be of "lower" class.
The prolitariate (or prols) if you were. IMO it's awfull.

They also can be pretty useless in that they often can't change a tyre or check the oil fill/top up their washer bottle (even with water)etc.
In the main they're lost without BMW roadside assistance (which is better than any other by the way) and runflat tyres.

They also think the park assist proximity sensors are infalable so they don't need to be as vigilant when parking because the car will tell them when they need to stop. You should see the incredulous looks on their faces when they eventually run into something (even at the front of the car).
Then they're running to the dealer complaining that the car's got something wrong with it because they ran into a post (or worse still, IMO a "real" or collector car) in the car park, and they're pissed off that their insurance is going to sting them for an excess (and it's not right or justified:mad:).
Talk about diminished responsibility.

Don't get me started on the BMW bike owner, who is adamant that the TPM is an absolutely accurate measuring devise, for determining the correct operational tyre pressure.
Because it's a BMW:rolleyes: and it's not necessary to regularly check tyre pressures.
Then when one tries to council them (in the nicest possible way) on the reality of the situation.
You get this look that you're either incompetent or you don't understand.
That it's actually a BMW:( And you better get your facts right in future. Boy.

I know people who work and who have worked in "prestige" vehicle sales.
Some of the stories are incredulous.
BMW owners are reputed to be more prone to delusion, with an over inflated sense of entitlement.

Don't get me wrong it's just that I think there's a difference between the BMW and DUCATI crowd.
That is the DUCATI crowd "can be" a bit stuck up but not generally.
And the BMW crowd "can be" more inclined to be elitest but not as a rule.

Just like during the war.
The Americans were very good at area bombing precision targets, and the British were very good at precision bombing area targets.

That the end of my rant for the day:)

I did and I rather enjoyed that they were talking up the Pani on a BMW site. Be nice to see more of that here.

Ugly people are the most discriminated against and marginalized in ALL societies:(
Why should it be different for ugly BMW motorcycles;)

lol..just giving you a hard time dude. I waffled over the decision to flip over to the dark side myself after spending a couple days on the BMW at CSS over the summer. I still may do it at some point, but have decided to stay with "ole leaky" for the time being. :)

It's not a leak:mad:
It's a feature of the model, in that they piss excellence:D

Why would a BMW would be consider an elite car?

It's nice to see no flaming of the competitor. I also believe that most folks here on the Panigale forum have a lot of good things to say about the BMW. Great bikes and great owners!

It is what is Gunny, what can we say, like a beautiful woman they're not all perfect (nothing is) but man ya gotta luv 'em ;)

Lol, I'll definitely give it to you for the BMW car owners, I'll take my statement back for stuck up owners!

On the other hand, for BMW riders, the ones I've met have seen to ride there bikes into the grave and ride and ride!

Why would a BMW would be consider an elite car?

I'm referring to an elitest attitude.

This is because BMW is regarded by some (mostly consumers) to be "a prestige brand".

In the auto industry, BMW are widely "understood" to be an "aspirational brand";)
Or in other words, a brand for try-hards:(

In Germany, they're just like Mercs in that they're just a local car manufacturer with plants all over the world. Although there's a great deal of chest puffing and pride associated with the brands among the natives.
.... the box heads even get woodies over Metzler tyres for bikes.

In the UK BMW's are regarded as a car for dark skinned (black) people, or even cocks depending on who you talk to:eek:
If you were living in Australia, we would be talking about Holdens and Fords.

Maybe they are aspiring to be better than box heads .

Who knows what's going on?

I think people are just caught up in all the brand marketing (what ever the brand may be), and the marketing men have got them by their dicks and playing with their balls.

All I know is that if one has a high performance V-Twin machine.
You've got to be mindful of the limitations regarding reliability brought about by the vibrations and stresses imposed by the nature of the V-Twin design.
It's absolutely inherent.

If one doesn't understand this fundamental issue, and is prepared to accept and work with it, then one really needs to move onto something that's going to be more fit for purpose in their world.
What ever that may be.
And good luck to them, and all power to them I say.
Just find something you like that suites you and enjoy it while ever you can.
Because life's really short when you live it to the full.

Whinging on the internet is not going to move one forward.
It just serves no real purpose other than a forum to vent. But there's limitations to that;)
After which it just becomes whinging and varying degrees of criticism and complaining to people who can't help you.
Either go to the dealer, or get rid of it.

With all things, you pays your money, and takes your chances.
