So, I've always been a fan of Honda since my first bike (CBR600F4) and I keep up with them from time to time. My last bike before my 1199 was an '08 1000rr that someone wanted mere than me...so they took it...I digress.

News is a few months old but it looks like rather than develop a new CBR1000RR, Honda will sell enough RC213V replicas to meet WSBK homologation requirements.

That is pretty cool by Honda.

Costing 100k+.... dont think I can get one.

At least Honda is doing something with Motorcycle markets. Their Car development have been boring last 10 years. They used to make cool sports cars but now same o' accords and civics...

Bring back the Type R!!!

i think if it's gonna end up like this - pretty ugly with a GSX-R headlight.

To homologate that bike would mean 2000 bikes built over 24 months. That's 200 million dollars worth of bikes. Is there even a market for a Honda like that?

Not at that price, but then again Ducati sold 1,500 Desmosedici RRs between '07-'08. It's a gamble, interested to see how it pans out.

Yea, but people are used to paying a lot for a Ducati. Honda, not so much.

Agree. Look at cars.

People always will say the same. "Its a Honda..." and never pay 50-60k for it.

This is reason for "Acura" brand name, the luxury Honda brand to justify the higher prices. :D

Same for Nissan and Infiniti, Toyota and Lexus.

Having said that, IF I had 100k to throw around. I would F ing get it. lol.

That's true, but the NSX and Integra Type-R were both Honda except in N.A. and Hong Kong. Hell, the TSX is just a European accord. Marketing and exclusivity has a lot to do with it. Case in point, $100K Nissan GT-R. Told everyone it's faster than a Porsche. Honda will say it's faster than a Ducati. Silly consumers!

I'm willing to bet if you tell people they can't have one unless they sell they're firstborn, they'll buy it. Ducati did the same thing with the Desmo..."Sorry, only current R owners right now. You can't have one!"

NSX and Integra was Acura.

i think this bike will be amazing but at $100k i am not sure how many units they will sell

RC line has some deep roots and huge following, I wouldn't doubt it selling the required numbers.

I also doubt it will be $100k.

If Honda is looking to homologate the bike for WSBK, no way it will cost $100k. If they're trying to make a crazy collector's item, then maybe it could be that expensive.

My guess is that it will be somewhere between $30k-$60k if they want to make something for homologation. The tough thing for Honda right now is that the yen is so strong it makes it difficult for them to make anything really cool for a reasonable price. That is why the next NSX will be developed and produced in the United States. I can't see them doing the same thing for motorcycles (they recently shut down a bunch of motorcycle production in the US).

Yup, $30,000 is probably a median guess. I would say they'll price it in the realm of the RC8R Track, HP4, and the 1199R ($20K-$30k).
