Horn and Signal Issues

The fix will be to replace your dash. Biggest downside is that your odometer will be reset to zero...which is a bit of a pain in the ass because your service lights will no longer be accurate. I've done 800 miles since replacing my dash and so far no issues with the turn signals or switches.
I'm having my replaced tomorrow and didn't know this. Man that sucks!!!!

They must do it.
Sounds like you need a new dealer.
Had mine replaced yesterday and they didn't adjust the odometer or the service indicators. So my bike has zero miles now. Said they couldn't, but I should bring it back in 600 miles when the first service indicator kicks on and they would reset the service light.

That doesn't effect your power in the bike does it? If the bike is reset to the break in period I could see how the horsepower would be lowered by default. Just curious. Sounds like getting it replaced is a huge pain in the butt.

No power loss at all. The reported limiting the bike to rain mode for the first 600 wasn't implemented on the Panigale (at least not US bound bikes). That's what i'm told anyway, but that's another conversation :) Regardless, like I said I didn't notice any power loss. However, getting a new dash WAS a real PITA for me at least. I first report the problem to my dealer back in Oct. At the time they didn't want to replace the Dash so I waited several weeks for word from DNA (which never came). Then they (my dealer) told me they were waiting for the results of a dash replacement on another customer's bike before they replaced anymore. That took a few more weeks. When they did finally decide to replace mine, it took two more weeks for the part to show up. Didn't really mind the waiting but what bugs me is the odometer and the service indicators will never be accurate. Now i'll have to manually add 4k miles to whatever's displayed on the dash

Mine experienced the issue today but have not been able to replicate while riding and manipulating the up button or a 15minute ride. I rarely ride non stop for nearly 2hrs like I did today so I'm not sure if that is a contributing factor. I am just not sure what to do other than video it for the dealer if it happens again. I know that they will want to see this one with their own eyes.

Any other ideas on ways to replicate the issue?

My dealer took my word for it when I told him the symptoms, submitted the warranty order. It's very intermittent so it works more than it doesn't lol.

The use of the up button at any time while riding will trigger the problem.

It's all related to the up button guys.

Were you toggling between the trip meters or actually in the setup? Any specifics that you can recall will be great.

Thanks,
Victor

Mine doesn't do this. My up button will go out and the turn signal symptoms will be present. If I turn if off, sometimes my functionality comes back.

when I discovered my horn was not working I noticed every time i turned full lock right, the wires would pull out...........I just pulled the wires out more and now it seems to be ok....

It's a heat issue guys.

I've actually tested this and been able to replicate the effect.

1. Left standing in the sun for a moderate amount of time (couple of hours) the right indicator function fails.

2. Left standing in the sun for most of the day (and I admit the strength of the sun and ambient temperature will have an effect) - right indicator doesn't work and if you use the left it 'sticks' on and can't be cancelled because the cancel/change function button also has failed.

3. Leave the bike to cool down for half an hour out of the sun and the functions return in reverse, the cancel/function button comes back first, then the right indicator!

We have regular 100+ days here in Summer so its a big problem.

New dash on order!

Have the same problem with my "S"....horn, tripmeter and signal light switch malfunctioning...ALWAYS when using for several Kilometers.

Dealer has been informed and knows about the Dash being the culprit...

Just waiting for my updated Dash to arrive....other buddies of mine with 1199s have the same issue...They are waiting for theirs too...

I thought by Ducati switching to Mitsubishi Japan electricals instead of Italy's Magneti Marelli's system... all will be solved...not the case! :(

Sure hope when the "Dash" is replaced...nothing else crops up (electrical related)... Mechanically my bike runs perfect!!! :D

Yup, seems to happen when hot.

Ok, here are the actions required to replicate my failure:

Testing Method:
Manipulation of the UP button and right blinker performed every 10 minutes. Increased frequency to every minute after riding 30minutes in stop and go traffic.

Environmental: 80F

Time to first failure: 33 minutes

Failure mode: No right blinker and "up" button fails to function. Horn remained functional

Reset Method: Power Cycle still resulted in failure.

Power Cycle and Retest time until failure eliminated ≈3 minutes

Time required to replicate failure after 1st occurrence: ≈3 minutes

Your situation may differ

My RH indicator and menu button stopped working today.

Any feedback on the latest revision dash would be appreciated, as I recall some guys having multiple replacements!!

Hi Xbox, Mate I have a dash on order as of last week and the dealer said they were up to dash "F".
My Pani is a 2012 october edition! I get similar faults although it's my horn not menu button that has failed with the rh indicator.
I also see moisture under screen after washing or when ridden in heavy rain!
I will let you know when I get more info on my replacement.

i had a replacement made, after 1000+km, the RHS turn indicator, horn not working and scroll button for mileage al failed again....yes , again for the 2nd dash ECU.

I think Ducati is not solving the root of the problem.if dealer could not explain the problem then the problem is not know and not solved yet.

Replacing new dash ECU, does not help at all.

Man. Mine started doing it coming home from work the last 3 days. This is really a huge safety issue because if anyone gets their A$$ run over because a driver didnt know you are turning right or merging. I was playing around with it while riding thinking that I engaged some function that I wasnt aware of.

My dealer has sent DMH an email about the problem, telling them I don't want a dash swap, unless they have actually addressed the problem.

That was 6-weeks ago..... no feedback.
