How good is the Ohlins EC 2.0?

Yea and take JR and give him the same scenario with the ZX-10 R and you will have similar results. What’s the point? That factory riders can go fast on relatively stock bikes? Who cares, what’s that fo to do with anyone here? Nothing.

If you really want to bring it down to street level, how many guys are winning in CCS and WERA using the V4 platform. Someone who races want to chime in? To me it looks all Kawasaki and Yamaha. Where are all these fast V4s at the club levels?
No idea what CCS or Wera is, looks like some amature races in the country that is minuscule motorbike market.

BSB and CIV are dominated by Ducati mate.

Tbf, I spoke with the BSB Factory Ohlins technician who deals with Redding's practice bike, and he ran me through what Redding used, which was a base model with a fork cartridge kit and shock. Obvs had an exhaust on it, but no crazy geometry changes or ECU etc.

I personally believe that bike in the video is as they say. The BSB V4RS of Tommy Bridewell uses a stock V4R engine, which gets dialled back for Oulton Park! And, at Almeria, James Francis (BSB Superbike) on a full spec BMW superbike overtook me onto the back straight, and didn't pull anything on me (I'm on a V4R with a half system and ECU flash) down the straight.

Never have Road bikes been so close to supebikes, and never have superbikes been so close to MotoGP.

And, track record at a new track, he's not claiming to beat WSBK....

Tbf, no one runs Ducatis in stock classes at BSB. More to do with high purchase price, expensive running costs, and also V4 not being eligible! V4R exceeds price cap, V4 and V4S engine too big. Although, I think this season they are allowing the Aprilia V4 and Ducati V4 1100.

V4R is not homologated for STK class. It's pure politics mate.

JHP racing tried to homologate it but BSB said no.

There is nothing else to run from Ducati....

Might change now Fireblades cost £40k and BMWs £40k+

Yeah, you can spend £6-8k on kit ECU, dash and loom, but you're not allowed to upgrade your road spec brake master cylinder which isn't fit for racing - hence NOBODY running R1s in BSB stock.

Not this year mate. M1000rr is homologated, but v4r still no no :((

So anyone else have race/class info. So I understand you can’t run the V4R in the BSB SSTK class? What about the rest of the world. Where is it legal to compete with the V4R?

Anyone else? Is anyone competing anywhere at the club level (you know, regular guys like us, not some ex motogp hired gun) with a Ducati V4 that’s seen a podium? So Rick what your saying is Ducati is basically a boutique brand. They hire ex motogp talent and dump a ton of money to boost the brand. The have no effort at the club level. No contingency in place for club racers, no race parts available etc.

Yeah thats why here in the USA there is only one privateer team (KWR) now Panera Bread backed V4R so definetely sums it all up there is zero anything going on here in the states.

Pretty sure you can race a V4R in WERA and CCS, but I don’t think Ducati has contingency money. Both Yamaha and Kawasaki will pay you money for club racing and usually pay down to 5th position or so and actually pay pretty good if you win a race. Good club racers and win a few races and pretty much get the whole weekend paid for, considering the cost of gas, food, entry fees, hotels and other things…never mind crashing and bike parts. So it makes no sense to club race a Ducati cause all your gonna get is a trophy if you win.

Yes “panibadboy” CCS and WERA are amateur racing sanctions here in the US. The kind of racing you would be doing if you competed. Do you ride a Ducati in any sanctioned racing organization in the UK?

I mean, as people pointed in this thread, its all about the $$$.

Ducati sponsors Barni in Italy hence they run V4R. Pirro in CIV, Salvadori in National Trophy.
Ducati also pays BSB to run it in Superbike.
IDM is monopolized by BMW in Germany.

I race for lower level armature cup - BMRC that is dominated by BMW/Yamaha. Again, it all comes down to $$.

No,,this whole forum is a .... show. This is only one of the acts. Care to share anything interesting? What do you have going on Brad8266?

interesting probably not. Just unloaded my trailer upon returning from the track. Ran a personal best lap time today. My vesrah brake pads are 1,000 times better than the stock v4 brake pads. Trail braking on them is awesome.
