How often do you bleed your clutch?

a friend recently tried DOT 5 fluid - seems to have been successful

DOT 5 should not be used,,,its silicon based and does not mix with DOT 3/4 and can cause major issues...DOT 5.1 is what can be used...

i have never had an issue nor have i ever bleed the brakes or clutch. I did however go in for a service and the dealer did a flush at no charge of the brakes and the clutch. I can say i didnt feel the difference in the new clutch fluid/bleed, but it was very noticeable in the flush of the brake fluid! I hit the brakes and just about went over the front lol

.......update: my dealer just performed TSB 15-001 per Ducati guidelines. Replaced the clutch slave piston anti-rotation insert.
No issues after a 1,100 mile trip.
Hopefully this will fix the problem which a slave cylinder replacement and total purge of the system couldn't.

Hope so.:)

Back to the 11mm wrench and paper towel method. And I paid how much for this bike?

I'm stumbling this problem myself. Although, I'm not sure if the TSB was performed on my bike.

I notice when I have trouble finding neutral and shifting from 1 to 2 etc. And issue downshifting, thats my indication to bleed the system.

I recently had similar issues with my Monster 1200S. Replacing the clutch pump (master cylinder) fixed it.

Is there an actual TSB number besides 15-001? I'm not seeing the details when doing a search. I have swapped out my slave cylinder and it didn't fix the issue either.

Working on a fix????? Oh of course what was I thinking with the hydraulic clutch
Being a brand new invention there are going to be some bugs. Ducati used cheap OEM parts that happened to share a brand name. Brembo GP master and Oberon slave. I have never touched the system. 6000mi and the fluid looks new as day one. In stock trim, this bike has quite a few pieces that belong in the rubbish can.

Mannn I got a ziptie on my zhit right now. I am gonna leave it on there a few days. I just had my clutch flushed and now it just became worst. I believe its due to air. :-( dc

Yep! I am really tired of this kind of posts....
If you have a problem with the clutch hydraulics, chance the slave cyl. If problem persists, chance master cyl.
Ducati's SC design is probably as old as the fuel tank venting piece inside the cap or the f**king claxon. Must be some sort of a mob thing :)

But please.... Clutch hydraulics is one of the simplest things on this bike. Fix it yourself, don't complain for years about it. It's just boring....
