I had to share this cos I am from India and have ridden there for almost 7 years before coming over to the US to continue my motorcycling life..

You will be amazed at the complete lack of discipline on the road and the various factors you have to deal with and is sure to put your handling skills and alertness levels to the test..

None of us will ever experience that here anyways.. IMO if you can ride in India, you can ride anywhere as you are a lot more prepared for surprises.

Vietnam, Thailand and Bail is pretty much the same.

Although for me, the record for getting the most people on a bike goes to the Indians.
It was a family of 5 Dad riding, mum ridding pillion with the 2 littlest kids on each hip and the eldest boy ridding on the tank in front of Dad holding onto the handlebars. All on a Honda Hero 125.

A friend of mine reckons he's seen 6 on a bike in Vietnam:eek:

It would never happen here:(
They won't have it.
And they wonder why it costs so little to get things made in Asia.
RIP Holden/Ford.

IMO.
If they can transport an entire family on a motorbike and live on a bowl of rice a day whilst living in a virtual shoebox, that says a lot about their capacity.

I have been to India when I was 16 and witnessed the men acting macho, surfing on the top of the trains and diving low and laying flat when the train goes through tunnels...
Surreal for sure... They are fearless, they don't have much and as such have nothing to lose... even if it's their life...

I miss my time in S.E. Asia, China and India. It's chaotic but in a way its very fun and liberating to abandon all law and just be a hooligan... at least for a little while. I couldn't do that daily but it was fun when I was there. :)

WTF? similar to the Philippines but that looks worst....

And did anyone see that tree in the middle of the street, I mean not street but in the middle of the left lane? WTH?

Heh, I survived 10 years living and riding in that condition back in Jakarta. Come to think of it, don't quite know how I did that. But believe me when I was there it didn't look or feel that difficult getting by at all.
Didn't realise how crazy it is ....

Now you know how we ride.. we have to deal with all sorts of ...... we also have to deal with cattle in the middle of the road which just stand there and take a dump sometimes :p

But what irks me the most is that with all these hazards, people don't give a .... about safety and ride without a helmet. The number of accidents that happen is crazy and yet people don't learn.
