Told myself it wouldn't happen...that it couldn't happen...the bike is fine the way it is!!

Ugghh!!....I am a victim of BLING, for Pete's sake!

It all started with the little rear coil over cover...seemed to be a nice bit of balance with the front carbon fender...and that would be the end of it, right??

Here's a synopsis of how the virus took effect:

"Wait...What's that on the shelf??? Ohh...a rear carbon fender? For a Panigale?.. Ok, toss it on the pile..what?...you say you have the other bits on order that was cancelled by a customer? Would I like them? Well...OK, call me a carbon whore, then!!"

Salesman had me hook, line and sinker!!

Pics to follow sometime this millennium.

I hang my head in Blingful shame;)

Carbon is better than chrome. I'll be visiting the carbon gods in the near future as well. I'd like to have the whole front area (key guard, side pieces, part under the windscreen) carbon as well as the hugger.

Don't be too hard on yourself, happens in the best families!LOL
My 08 Hyper ended up with 7k$ worth of goodies that got me next to nothing on resale value. Told myself it was a lesson learned and the Pani would stay as is.......same as you it started with a tankpad and now I'm off to the races:rolleyes:

LMAO......If you guy's think you have been bitten by the Carbon bug, I have ordered everything that is on the Carbonvani list and should get it in about 40 days. Most of it will be painted so it wont be a carbon looking bike.

My aim is to make this one of the lightest Panigales around with lots of aftermarket ultra light stuff.

Subscribed! But keep in mind that paint is not light....

Wallaroo - your bike is just gonna float away :p

How much weight do you anticipate shedding through this process?

Good question, the main aim was to shake 10kg off her/him:D but it looks like it could be more.

Still unsure if I am liking their new carbon look though. I preferred the high shine gloss where you could see the strands of carbon in it on a sunny day. Of course I will still be snapping up every carbon piece made for it (not she for me) -lol

Wallaroo: Please post pics when the time comes. I'd love to see it all in carbon before you paint it; but I know that building up the bike with all the parts only to remove them for painting is a lot to ask. I was bitten by the carbon bug for my other bike and have done everything other than the tank. Anyway, I bought the BST 7-spoke carbon fibre wheels for my Speed Triple that are featured on the Motowheels site highlighted above, and they made a HUGE difference to the performance of the bike. BST custom manufactured the hubs to fit the Speed Triple (wheels were originally made for the Ducati). Not sure the difference in weight with the high-spec forged wheels will be as make of a difference; but I lost 15 lbs of rotating mass on Speedie.

This thread is going to contribute to feeding my carbon disease vicariously. I too have sworn not to go down the carbon fibre path again. We'll see...

Styler I would like to do it as well, but as you said it could be pretty hard. Plus there might be a chance the Carbon would be here before the bike.
My 996R is all Carbon, including tank, makes the bike feel alot lighter.

I havent given to much thought to the BST's yet as I dont think they are available till Feb. But I would definetly like to try them.

Here is some pics Carbonvani sent me to wet your appetite:D

This thing looks spectacular man! Roughly how much do you have into it with all of that? Have you seen the carbon levers they have out yet? Isnt there contrast between the matte carbon look and "wet" look on some of those parts? It seems it from the pics. Love that tank though, wow!

Ive taken everything that they have except the Header guard, because they dont do a 70mm one yet, Tail Tidy and clutch cover and its going to be around $8000 euro, got a few freebies thrown in as you would expect.

Really good people to deal with and I will get pics sent as they make the parts.
The tank takes the longest because it has to be tested.
I am getting everything in gloss, except the pad part on the tail cover. Like this one in the pic.
