I dont understand why anyone does this sort of thing to a motorcycle or sportscar. It completely destroys the true function of the vehicle, but to each their own.

i occasionally pick up and ride with a few stretched/showed bike, and after the first 3 corners, they realize they made a big mistake. i never bother to slow down and wait for them.
what was done above is like take a war horse and dress it up then bring it to a dog show, insulting!

Apparently you guys are unfamiliar with the concept of a DRAG RACING MOTORCYCLE. I've heard the NHRA might even have a class for them entitled "Pro Stock Motorcycle". I guess if it's not like yours it must suck. If a bike doesn't have a Termi exhaust (lame) and isn't coated with enough carbon "bling" (VERY lame) to choke a whale it's crap. Gotcha.

"Let the hate flow through you"

Are you planning on doing this for looks mostly or for actually drag racing it? Big difference depending on your answer.

I wouldn't mind doing some drag racing, but I just can't get used to running real fast in those high heels without twisting an ankle:D

The 1199 isn't a drag bike. This thread has some nice replies in it so well done anyways.

I love it..... i think thats a sick show bike and refreshing from seeing too many GSXRs doing that ....

I think that just it, as a show bike its something new. There are people that build and only go to shows. Thats their thing, not ours. Now if you wanted that are your weekend warrior ride, not so much. This reminds me of the threads over on the Porsche forum when guys bring up the LS motor swap in the older cars (944, 968, 928) and people go bat .... crazy. Although, this has a lot less function involved.

Whoa! Now this is straight up DEJAVU type of stuff. So there I was, chilling in my patrol cruiser with nowhere to go, slow saturday. A thought popped into my head---"You know I never seen a RoaringToyz'd out 1199 yet, I saw a few squidly S1000RR but not a ducati". I get back to the kennel, change out of my uniform, fix me a pre-work shake, log onto here and viola! My thought came true.

Now I ain't no "hater" towards extended bikes, I had one. My TURBO Busa needed it, otherwise I would wheelie at a drop of a hat. Granted 11 out of 10 extended bikes do not have turbines, stroker motors or laughing gas pumping through them...nor are they piloted by Ricky Gadson type of riders. With that said, there is absolutely NO reason why any machine should be extended beyong it's natural length unless forced induction/stroker motor is present to assist you with going fast. You can have a pretty bike and go fast on the drag strip without an extension of the swingarm, it is possible to get the same effect by finessing the throttle and strapping down the front end. Drag superstar Ricky Gadson does it with no issues when he tests new bikes for magazines, true fact. Off the soapbox I go! Ciao.
