I just installed the ebay kit a few minutes ago. Yowza....major difference when just blipping the throttle.
If this rain moves through I'll take it out for a spin.
I think I'm going to like it!
Maybe I can help someone out.....I left all my big allen wrenches at work so I had nothing here to pull the bar end. I didn't want to tear up the end....so I wrapped the end in 10-12 wraps of duct tape. I clamped pair of vise grips on it and yeha! off came the end. I left it all clamped up until it was reassembled. Cut the tape off, a quick wipe of brakewash to clean the tape residue off and you are done!
Hopefully it cools off a bit this evening...
Chris
I'm a little confused... I didn't need to take the bar end off to install the kit. Just opened up the plastic housing per the instructions! What was the motivation behind removing it?
Just as an experiment, I got rid of even the last infinitesimal piece of throttle slop. I found a zip tie that was exactly the correct thickness and glued it to the side of the larger of the two inserts that came with the kit I got from Jamez. I like it.. Instantaneous motion of the motorcycle, no waiting, not a millisecond....

Sorry, no pics, but so easy to do. I just looked through the various materials I had in my garage and found some black plastic Zip ties and they were the perfect thickness. I cut to size, then superglued to the larger of the two inserts... Voila! There you go.any pics?
I really like the way the bike reacts now. This morning's commute let me test it thoroughly and in my opinion, it helps make the bike easier to ride and weirdly enough, easier to get away cleanly from a stop...Fanatical

There was literally 2mm left. I'm an engineering type and tend to take things to their logical conclusion (sometimes to a ridiculous extent), so I just had to see what it would be like with ZERO slop. There was still some slop in your throttle after installing the kit? Mine had zero play after installing the kit, but my bike is an 899- wonder if there are some small differences in the clearances on the 1299 throttle assembly?
