Cause it isn't a Ducati!

Why does a Rolex cost more than a Tag Heuer ? Both are fine watches. It always come down to this. The manufacturers will charge what the market will bear..

Ducati is like the Ferrari of motorcycles
The MV Agusta is the Lamborghini of bikes
and the Aprillia is the Maserati

All are fine bikes. All have their fans. All are fast and Italian.

All are expensive compared to the Japanese bikes. All are lusted after and all will provide plenty of thrills..

Pick your flavor.. Pay the man for the one you want want
and go out and ride and enjoy.. life is short
Do what gives you joy and quickens your heart and sings to your soul..

Rolex's are greatly overpriced however they hold value. They started increasing pricing when the CHF went up and the dollar went down. They held that position and as a company are pretty arrogant. They produce close to 1 million a year. They have many more QC issues than Ducati.

Look at Patek standpoint if you want to use horological examples. They have adjusted pricing 2-3 times (depending on where you are in the world) due to fluctuations in currency.

Neither one of these are needed items. A bike, a watch, an exhaust. While we dont pay as much for Ducati worldwide. Akrapovic as a company should adjust pricing not to mention Ti is down $3.00 USD a pound since mid 2011

Sorry, I really don't understand the whole thread.
If you think it's not worth the price, don't buy it. Ducati, Termignoni and Akrapovic are just normal companies. And their only goal is to make profit. Easy as that.

Everything is priced according to the market's demand. And this demand is against all logic!

We could argue about best ROI. But there is none :)

One other thing: One couldn't buy a true full (sic!) Ti system 10 years ago, something like that was only available for Mil Gov. It's freakin high tech and that is for sure another reason why it's more expensive.
