I should have waited for 1299...

Maybe I can pick up an good price on a use SL with on the hype on the 1299, wait a minute they'll probably do an SL version of that anyway !!! .?

From the latest MCN it sounds like the 1299 extra capacity is aimed at bringing back the perceived lack midrange , not that I've found it lacking in any way but still! Also they were speculating that it would include the more advanced electronics such as anti-wheelie that make the SuperLeggera so good. I'll probably wait a year but I must admit that these things certainly appeal to me and will probably help the Panigale to ace the mag reviews against the competitors.

Now heres a valid point....

I was told the thought process behind the SL was to do a balls to the wall 1 time "if cost wasn't a factor" bike. I would think they would wait for the next design to do another one.

When does it stop?

Back in the day it was the 916? Now we are at the 1299.

Horsepower sells. Just ask Suzuki (Hayabusa).

I'm perfectly content with my 1199. It does everything well for me, and that smile never stops when riding her.

Hopefully the next model Ducati will get smart and make a V4 instead of a twin. Until that happens I'm happy with my 1199.

I can't wait for the 1299. I was riding in the hills on the weekend and felt that it really lacked the punch I need to really enjoy myself. Hopefully the extra power will test my awesome skills.

You guys that don't wanna buy until they work the bugs out of the new model, gimmie a damn break. Not like it's going to be an all new engine generation from only a 100cc increase for ..... sake. Nor will the bike be totally different and all new for that matter. Get over yourselves.

Back in the day a 350 was a big bike. Sheesh!

Most dealers should be clearing out the remaining 2014 1199's at rock bottom pricing. One of my local dealers is selling both colors of 1199S 2014 for $20k. They are havin a huge blowout sale today and today only. 2014 R1 same price as 2014 R6 lol $9499. 899 Panigale red for $12,999 and white for $13,999 because it has 8.99 horsepower more than the red bike. Zx10R for $11k.

They said the base and S model should remain the same for 2015 but the current R model will be a 1299 for 2015. This may or may not be true but that's word from the dealer. Take that with a grain of salt. Afterall, just another sales rep.

Remember the 1098 then a 1198 ? This is the same .
The 1098 was a nicer engine so lets wait and see .

+1.

Only the magazines and bench racers want that midrange back.

The 1198 was pure wheelspin, wheelie, set it down and wheelspin again. A monster. The 1098 was a faster engine IMO. The 1199 is more like what I'm used to from 4 cylinders, but still tons of torque. (Although I'm a newb at riding these things)

I think it's inevitable that the Desmosedici returns. Can they sell enough of those to meet WSBK rules???

After the hit-and-run accident, I just got another 1199s. I wish I knew the new model...

Still I like my new 1199s and had lots of troubles from 2012 Pani. :p

If you are riding your 1199s and enjoying "riding" then you did the right thing but if are not riding your new 1199s for whatever reason...then you should waited for the 1299.

Bottom line is enjoy riding what you have.

Went for a great ride today. My new Akra was silver at the start but after an hour its got that blue colour for about 6 inches from the front header.
Lots of nice comments for my bike today. All the other duc riders were running termis so my Akra stood out in the crowd. Clear blue skies and 23 deg C

Who needs an 1299 ?

Hi all, I was just about to pull the trigger on friday and buy a lightly used 2013 1199r until I saw the possibility of a 1299 announcement coming soon.
Im not too bothered about getting a 1299 but i was wondering if anyone thinks I might get the 1199r a bit cheaper after the announcement?
