Just came from Dealer where I was quoted roughly $220 for both pieces plus labor. A new upmap will be neccessary. At the same time I will get a new rear OEM tire at a competitive price.
As soon as I put a few miles on her I will post my feedback.

Did they give you an estimate on labor? And you say both pieces, does that only include chain and 41T sprocket, not replacement of front sprocket as well?

Rear only and I would guess 1-2 hours labor, not too much $$$ to feel more low end torque

Thank you for posting this up, I been wondering about this "reduced" price that DNA mentioned in their email. Looks like the AFAM sprocket/carrier route makes sense after all.

I went with the AFAM 520 / 41T rear kit (w/carrier) and love it. With this much power it would be impossible to tell if a 525 or a 520 chain/sprockets were installed without looking, but the 520s are just as strong as the 525s (so I'm told). Chain mfgs put all their knowledge into keeping the 520s as strong and light as hell for the race teams that depend on 'em. 525s....not so much. The real reason for me going with the 520 is that the stock 525 was rubbing into the swingarm. Tolerances are just too tight. 520 should eliminate the problem.

As for the acceleration--I'm grinning just thinking about it. It's phenomenal without being absurd.

Oh yeah...the dealer (Newport Beach Ducati) didn't have any parts from Ducati Italy yet and had no indication of any sort of special pricing.

Parts/Labor for the DID/AFAM kit, plus labor was $700. Your call if it's worth replacing a good chain/sprockets. Mine were .... after 16k miles, so it was an easy choice.

16k miles and original chain

I'm approaching 3k, had the chain adjusted (no trackdays yet) and was considering replacement. Am I jumping the shark?

My replacement schedule is more along the lines of Antihero's - 15-20k with normal use (including a fair number of rain days) and regular cleaning and lubrication.

OK, now I'm confused. I also ordered the AFAM quick change kit, but I got the 525 chain and steel sprocket. I had seen on other threads that there can be a problem with the chain rubbing on the swingarm but that it was solvable by a combination of chain length and wheel position adjustment with the eccentric hub. if this is not the case I'd be grateful for the input. I'd rather not take this thing out of the box if it's not going to work.

Thanks in advance!

Why did you get 525 and steel? Most others here (including me) have alloy/520 chain, Huge weight savings and just as, if not more, strong.

I've exceeded photobucked bandwidth for Feb--even though I've upgraded to Pro with unlimited bandwith. GRRR...So if you can't see 'em today, you'll be able to see tomorrow.

1:45 - 2hrs in labor. In LA. (Don't know what the hourly rate is, but it ain't $100/hr).

$700 includes CA ".... in the butt" state tax, too.

too funny gunny. you make me laugh. you left out use the search feature

as to the OP. is the sprocket ducati is coming up with a quick change sprocket?

No one knows, but we doubt it. Will probably be an exact replacement for stock, just 2 more teeth. And the thought is, even with the discount, and AFAM will be cheaper/as cheap, and certainly lighter. But if DNA was installing them free of charge, than the DNA may be cheaper in the long run.

Not really, with QC sprockets it's easy for the end user to do it themselves.

POST COUNT: And 1

It's not easier to do the original change, just subsequent. And nobody that has a QC decided to go to the 41, only those people, unless they are named (insert several forum members here) can easliy change out a QC'd sprocket.

PS Count + 1, negates your +1

I have a QC and went 41, geez. And I assure you all can handle it, I am younger and have more to lose if I break something while doing it lol.

I'm going to do MAD with this post count.
