IMU mounting after installing track fairings

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I have the DB Holder and the IMU is mounted without any foam, spacers etc... just directly to the mount and it works without problems.
You’re one of the lucky ones. Have you rode the bike hard?
I’ve got the db holders one and had to cut the imu mount off and make my own

have you run it up to rideline repeatedly. mine never had issue till i was running hard

There are two straights (Grobnik) on the track I ride and for both you exit the last corner in 3rd gear and than it is up to 270kph. I shift in the last 500rpm. I hit the limiter a couple of times unintentionally and it still didn't cause any error. As for what I am reading here I hope it stays so..

Reading this post over and over..I realized there may have been a missed point.

the Motoholder mount is very different compared to that of db holders. Thanks to bad_ducati, I’m in the process of replicating his version that seems to work well. Had to order afairing stay as the mountsare differ t compared to the stock one.
Nonetheless wanted to point out there is a difference between the two stays

Hey guys, another 1299S owner with the same issue. The vibrations trigger the DES, SCU, and Interial codes like clockwork every time the bike is ran hard (vibrations, presumably). Mine has 1199 Motoholders fairing stay and bodywork, and I see the rectangle that some of you guys cut off and replaced with your custom mounts. Going to do have to do some DIY'ing soon enough. In the mean time, if anyone has premade IMU solutions (via 3D printing or whatnot), or current web links that still work in 2022...I'm all ears and would be happy to buy a bracket. Great info here. Cheers!

Follow on question. As others pointed out, the Motoholders fairing stay with that rectangular IMU mount puts it about a 35 degree angle. Should it be 35 degrees, or mimic the 45 degree angle of the dash, which is the same angle some of you guys made your brackets at?

Update: Mounting the IMU mount on rubber isolators did the trick. I don't think the pitch (fore/aft) of the sensor matters as much as it does like other stated here.

Nice work @1299S_Racer

Have you got a pic of your setup? I’ve done mine but haven’t taken it to the track yet so unsure if itlll work

Sorry for the monster pics...but you can't say you can't see what's going on! Drilled out the holes to 1/2" which allows the rubber isolaters to fit in there perfectly.

Has anyone got a picture of the wires that go to the IMU ,my plug was broke so just have 4 pinned wires that I don't know what pin they go to
Thanks in advance

Zombie thread resurect....is anyone making a reasonably priced, but well tested IMU mount for track fairings? I have the stock fairing stay, but am not opposed to getting a different stay. if I need to, to make the IMU mount work.

Doing a Panigale R track build and am expecting trouble with the IMU.

Did we confirm that angle/tilt front to back is not a critical measurement? (sounds like stock is around 45 degrees?)
I didn't see the 3d print file attached, does anybody have that?
Anyway to buy myself out of this or am I going to have to make something?

I have one I can sell you. It's made by UK Race Support. I'll send a PM

I can take some pics of my setup , I’ve done multiple track days so far with no issues

I’ve put foam under the imu along with the anti vibration dampers for the bolts , tied the dash cable away as it was close to the bracket, set the bracket up the stock degrees

Dark, Thank you so much for this photo!

Did you solid mount (not using the OEM vibration standoffs) the dash to the mount? I've been considering this also with some rubber pad in between, I assume it's been fine?
Can i see additional photo of your the intake air temp sensor?
Actually any under the fairings photos of your bike would be nice.

Thank you!!!
