I am at a loss as well on how the insurance companies work or what their criteria is.
I said I wanted to add 15grand worth of extras and they said quote was the same....go figure:confused:

I called Insure my ride about that claim and quote and they said no one has a policy with them for that price.

Cheapest I got was NRMA at $942 which was then matched by QBE.

May I ask how old you are?
Getting mine I'm aug and I just want to get an idea on what I should be paying.

We always seem to get screwed on price simply for living in Oz. So before taking delivery next week I am shopping about for insurance especially carefully.

I am 40yo, full no claims bonus, bike will be garaged in the Eastern suburbs, Sydney. The bike is an S, and insurance value will be AUD36k (non-Australian forum members - note heinous price!).

So far I have the following quotes:

QBE - $1,700, excess $600, $4k gear cover
Shannons - $1,800, with similar terms
NRMA - $1,407, excess $650, $2k gear cover, no restrictions on garaging

Is there any other provider I should look at? Any other comments?

WOW???

Shannons quote me $980 a year on the base model insure for an agree value of 30k

i am 25 years old, Shannon's includes 3k worth of riding gear at no extra cost (it is part of there policy), plus choice of repairers, agree value, new for old replacement in the 1st year, cover all modification, plus once i start to add some cf bits will increase my agree value :D
