Stw, in my own defense I , coming from off road background, am very comfortable with this. This is the trail brake I was talking about.

Off-road riding and street/road riding are very different styles.
For good reasons.

Smooth is fast, fast is smooth.

if you can't go to a track, please go back to the parking lot and practice braking. practice a lot. not because you'll lock it up, but because you need to know what this bike does. and practice everything else.

good luck.

Do a lot of you have dyslexia? My question was about hand positioning for BRAKING WITH THE FRONT BRAKE WHILE DOWNSHIFTING SIMULTANEOUSLY. Not braking. Not downshifting and blipping. Doing both at the same time. Specifically the question was if the DP levers are adjustable in their position in relationship to the grips. I'm pretty sure if they were closer I could do it easier because my hands aren't that big.

I'm starting to regret asking for advice or info because half of the responses have been flaming me because you don't think I know how to downshift and the other half have been the seemingly standard slow down before you kill yourself. I'm not asking about dropping a knee in to corners. I'm asking about lever adjustability.

Excuse my rant but this is getting ridiculous.

Welcome to the forum, get aftermarket adjustable levers. They will help...

Welcome! its pretty dysfunctional here so don't let it get to you. ;)

I have the DP levers and, yes... they are very adjustable.

For me, the unexpected benefit is that they also feel better ergonomically. With the stock levers, my left wrist would feel strained after 30 minutes of city riding. With the DP levers, I don't feel much strain, even after an hour in stop and go traffic.

The direction I went was do to someone trying to flame me on a fact about our bike. I did agree that blipping was smoother. Dont worry this is nothing. Read the dead thread for a laugh.
