So the R in H2R doesn't stand for race???? It stands for Drag race???:p H2DR??
For me this bike is a huge disappointment.... a fat pig...when they have the ZX14 why bother???

Yeah I'm with ya. I still don't get it. The promo vids show it on a racetrack.

I like what KHI is doing here.using technologies of optimizing performance on a 999cc engine. Not at the destination yet but on a journey.... rather than taking the easier route of increasing capacities....until it is ridden by capable hands, opinions are just any bodies guess.

this is Mk1.1, perhaps Mk2,3 or future models with better weight reduction would come, as the model build its fan over the years....Consumers of this age can be very impatient. with internet/mobile we demand everything INSTANT, IMMEDIATE,NOW........

I have to agree. Give Kawi credit for stepping out of the box. This thing is a beast and should be appreciated for what it is, not what it is not... just my .02

agreed... If I were a drag racer, I would be all over this bike for the potential it has at the strip... I think the bike has already done 8's at 166 mph with Gadson aboard (the R engined version) and I could see 7's at 170 mph plus eventually..

Just revisiting this thread to note that I got to watch Jeremy Toye doing some demo laps on an H2R around Barber this past weekend at MotoAmerica. That thing is wicked! Sounds uber-mean, is as loud as any full Superbike out there, and looks to get around a track in pretty good order. He barely had time to open it up on the shortish straights at Barber, but it definitely made an impression. Looked like a giant ball of fun!

Pretty much the only place you could use it. Boosted engines don't make sense to me on a curvy road or on the track, they work great on the water though, love the 300X jet-ski

I rode an H2 at the track this past weekend. It's a big, cushy Busa-like ride, not in any way like a typical track weapon. I think a fast rider on a ZX-10R would lap himself on an H2 during a road race. It does sound cool, and it's fast in a straight line but I wouldn't say I was shocked at how fast it was, to me it didn't really seem a lot faster than any of the 4-cyl liter bikes. Or a Boofa.

just to clarify, you rode the H2 not the H2R correct? what type of sound was it making that made it different?

I did imagine it would be very busa-like riding one of these bikes, just by shear size.

It's a tank just look at youtubes Jay Leno ride, scrapes its pegs at moderate lean angles
Probably a great interstate hwy bike

Depreciation on these things will be 50% within a couple of years - expect to see them with extended swingarms and the usual ghetto mods to join the Busa and ZX-14 crowd

I'll pass....

Yeah, just the standard H2. It has the "whirrrrrr" of the supercharger and you can hear the pop-off valve when you roll off the gas. It's definitely not a small bike, it "feels" big and heavy.

H2 isn't much bigger than a ZX10, same width and length just a slightly chunkier front end but you certainly feel the extra bulk the bike has. Hopefully they put this tech onto a special version of the new ZX10 coming out soon.
