Then, after pinning the throttle to have the electronics keep the engine at a constant 10,000 rpm, Canet would release the clutch and modulate it as the R1M shot down the runway, throttle pinned the whole way. The runs looked superbly consistent, with Canet banging upshifts as the front wheel skimmed above Lemoore concrete for what looked like a quarter-mile."
