I didnt know that we had the function that JD posted up.

Between "you dont have any chicken strips" and "how fast have you had it" those two statements are common with my rides. I just ride away.

At least I got rid of "Somethings wrong with your motor, it's making a funny noise":D

I went out for a ride today with my friend down to the local pub and had a couple of cups of coffee in the sun. Lots of bike riders get down there as there are some nice roads leading to it. I am sure Wilkson has stopped in there at least once. Spent some time admiring a really nicely restored Ducati 860 GT.

Got home and had a beer in the workshop and talked bikes and life for a while. I thought I had a great afternoon.

Log onto the forum to find that, I missed something on my ride. The lean angle log.

My poor old 1199 does not have it. How can I show my face in the forum ever again without the lean angle. Oh well, and I thought this afternoon was fun.

By the way it is ok to get your elbow on the ground at 50 ish lean angle. I know so. I've done it.
And knee down at 30 degree ish.
See, lean angle is not everything. Body position is.
In fact, the less lean angle the better :D

I think you need to go into self exile. I would also recommend you play Whitney Houston, "How am I Suppose to Live Without You"

It's all about lean angles and compression test shootouts these days .

I am not sure if it is new or not but I used an app called "Diablo Super Biker" on my Galaxy S5. It records the whole trip using GPS for speed and something else for the lean angle. Unfortunately the weekend was wet and I did come across a guy that wasn't using the app but he did achieve 90 degrees. It seemed like a lot of effort in pain and expensive repairs but I suppose he wins.

He was okay for the record

Check it out!

I prefer the Michael Bolton version.

I do not try to get max lean angle on the street nor do i care too. Its stupid and dangerous to do it. I ride like a sissy on the road and save that stuff for the track. Im gonna get flamed and dont care. Too many ........., potholes and tree limbs for me to do that on the road.

Couldn't agree more.

In well over 100k street miles (including several cross-country trips), I can honestly say that I have never gotten a speeding ticket, never popped a wheelie and have maybe touched my knee down twice.

I have nothing to prove on the street.

Guys who think they are fast on the street...aren't. Being a track coach for several years I have seen/heard all of the comments from guys like "dude, none of my buddies can keep up with me through the mountains...I should be in the Advanced group". 9 times out of 10, they are in the slowest 1/3rd of the other riders...in the Novice group.

Street fast does not = track fast. Not even close.

If you were my friend on facebook I would instantly defriend you b9009b if you couldn't get your lean angles to at least 45 degrees.

Those are also the guys who typically have to compensate for something and are the "friends" that will pass in curves or go 100mph in a straight away only to slow to 60mph into a curve and have no idea about what being a smooth rider is. What you described is why many years ago I cut my riding group down to myself and possibly one other.

If I was your friend on facebook you would double friend me for being ....... awesome. Dude lean angle on the street is stupid and I could care less. On the track I only care about max lean angle when I am in the bowl on Lightning at NJMP. Other than that I don't have to drag a knee to keep up with the top of advanced and lowest e group. Last trackday I banged bars with the lower experts with minimal lean angle. Only necessary when needed.

Lean Angle is not a status its an art.

I actually enjoy watching those guys lose grip and sling off into the trees. I'm about to bring a guy down the road from me that is the exact same way to a track day. Just to show him how slow he is.

Yep. I don't ride with anybody on the street. Too many times other sportbike riders are idiots. They will go 100+mph, pass in curves, pop wheelies and basically just ride like jackasses (while creeping through corners).

...and then question your speed/skill for not going the same.

I cannot like this enough.. I see it every weekend coaching. . The big baller street rider usually the most fun is the brake marker test.. see who can brake the latest and get her turned in.. then watching then check up 730 yards back and hanging their heads

Followed up by the drag race and Dyno numbers so you really know what bike to buy

Well the guys over at the R1 forum have a 2015 with a full graves exhaust putting down 193hp:eek:

I should have bought that, I would have been placed in the blue group from the start and would have won my track day:(
