Just don't do it. Do NOT under any circumstances let anyone else ride your 1299, or it will lead to problems... Expensive problems.

Today, I let my wife ride my brand new 1299S... Bad move.. Now she wants to sell hetrTriumph 675R and get a 1299.

This could get expensive.

The look on her face after she rode it for 40 minutes was priceless. I was following in the car and the last I saw of her was when we hit the first real straight near our house and she pulled out an pissed off at a ridiculous rate of knots.. Passing 6 cars as she buggered off into the distance :D

I LOVE this bike..

LOL, I was cringing just thinking that you let someone borrow it for a quick jaunt and they wrecked it.

Glad to hear that this was not the case.

Cheers!

I thiught this was gonna be a story about a totalled out 1299 lol. Make her happy and get her one.

Phew.....had me worried there for a minute....

I saw the title and was already looking for my auction license....

glad it worked out better...kind of...on second thought. DON'T DO IT!

I think my wife's 848 gets more money and attention than my 1199s and 1098s combined lol. Seriously I think she is convinced she is Dovioso and I am GiGi or something.

Your wife sounds like quite the rider - women who can ride like that are one in a few thousand

HAHA!!! Gotcha.. :D

Seriously have had the most fun in the last 20 years over the last few days. My inner child is so freaking happy.

If you take a passenger on this bike she better have one tight little ... - like asian 22 year old tight, anyone normal would be cruel and unusual punishment

That was my first thought also.

I never let anyone ride any of my bikes. Ever.

Hey 80 you got me I thought I was going to hear about your new bike being wrecked.

I hope your wife is riding safe and we do not hear about her getting wrecked. All the best and stay safe both of you.

Yes, I think most of us were worried that this story was going to end negatively. Glad she (and you) enjoyed the bike!

I've seen the borrow-then-wreck scenario play out twice within two weeks of each other (one was my bike, ninja 750, and another was a friends...who I warned not to do it).

Almost made me sick reading the title!!!!

Glad all is well and you are on the path to multiple Pani's. After I got my R my wife felt like she got ripped off with the CBR600 I got her. Within the year we had a new 899.

Good luck turning off the desire. We all know how strong the pull is firsthand.

Exactly, because I had knew he just got his bike. When I read the title I thought "oh .......".

I can count on a few fingers the times/people I have let ride my bikes. And those were people I was friends with and completely trusted. Regardless, it is hard seeing "your baby" being thrashed around. Elena Myers rode my R6 for a session at a track day at Jennings a few years ago and I was nervous the whole time. We were/are friends and I know she can ride...but I also know she is fast and wouldn't cut my bike any slack. I was mostly nervous because at the time I used STD shifting and she uses GP. But she managed.

Ive only seen one person come close to crashing one of my bikes and I almost .... a chicken. That was the last time I let anybody ride one of mine because I wouldn't be able to handle it if they messed it up.

Haha. That made me chuckle. I thought by the headline someone crashed it. Which is my number one fear wit every new purchase ;-)

i was like "oh shizzle this must be the 1st 1299s getting wrecked in the state!" and then it wasnt lol

My number one rule 'If you can't write a check today for the full amount to replace....don't ask because its not going to happen'

I've got a couple of friends that can do that. I let one of them ride my bike. Too bad I wasn't that smart in my younger days.

Exactly my theory... And I don't want a "fixed" bike. I want the bike I lent out, or a new one. :)
