So I am looking for rearsets to improve the footpeg grip. I know there are high quality but expensive rearsets out there, but I want to talk about the eBay specials from china. I know some people have purchased from eBay and have been pretty happy with their purchase. What I'd like to know is which rearsets brand (or which seller did you buy from) did you purchase. What are your impressions of fit, finish, function and overall quality. Would you buy again or would you buy something like lighttech next time around. I am looking for track rearsets, not something to show off at the coffee shop.

HQ Racing. For less than $300, they have forward, backward, up and down adjustability and trouble free shifting. The only downside I could think of is maybe the heel guard be a little bit higher but still works fine. Seller used to be a member here and raced his Panigale so he decided to make his own. His communication and customer service was above and beyond and I definitely put him through the ringer with my requests due to customization problems which were no fault of his but he helped me every which way possible. Some of the more expensive rearsets have less adjustability and some members have even complained about their expensive ducabike rearsets. Ebay rearsets may be $150- $200 but I'd spend the extra $100 or so and get the HQ Racing if you're not looking to break the bank. The pegs also fold in as well.

Gilles $450

For just footpegs - anything goes

Don't do it.

I spent the $100 to try them and they fell apart several times. I replaced a few parts but after they fell apart the fourth time I spent the money on Rizoma's.

"You get what you pay for" still seems true.

Just try changing out the foot pegs for ones with better grip.

I remember when the Panigale 1199 first came out we all watched this video. This guy seems to be coping with the standard rearsets. The OEM pegs were too slippery though. I heard they fixed this for the 1299.

Not really, the 1299 footpegs are still too slippery!

If you're not looking to change the footpeg position, then save yourself some money and just replace the pegs for ones with better grip. I did this with my 1199 pegs and replaced them with some eBay China pegs for maybe $50. Works fine on street and track, never had any issues. I'm still using them on my 1299 now after 4 years on my 1199. Installation takes 5 min.

If you're going to the track, buy Eric's stuff. Go to Woodcraft. I've raced my Panigale 1299S several times and done a boat load of track days. Basic. Functional. Black. Bullet proof. Reverse or standard shift. Great customer service. If you want to talk to Eric, he will talk to you. If you have a problem or need replacement parts, they will help. If you buy the Woodcraft rear sets, you will put them on and that's the end of it. I've put Woodcraft rear sets on Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Aprilia. Never an issue, never. Ask some of the other guys on here what they think about Woodcraft. If you're "not going to the coffee shop" and want to use your bike at the track...Peace. Highside49

I got woodcraft on my race SV and they are the bomb.

Unfortunately they weren't out yet for the Pani when I was in the market

I also vote woodcraft.

They're not as pretty as a lot of other brands like lightech, Gilles, DP but the thing about woodcraft is that you can readily buy every single piece to replace any broken pieces.

Do the Woodcraft rearsets support standard and reverse shift like some of the other options or do you still have to pick one or the other?

Like a lot of you I have also used woodcraft rearsets and they are fine. I have also used Chinese rearsets which worked fine as well. I currently have eBay rearsets on my MV and they work well and were inexpensive. I haven't run into any durability issues with them at all.

I currently run woodcraft rearsets on my track GSXR. I only have a couple of complaints about them, which admittedly are minor. First, the anodizing does fade from black to brownish. Updated footpeg design is better than earlier design. I don't really like the knurled pegs on the end of the shift / brake levers. Range of adjustment could be better.

At the same price point are the Bonamicci rearsets which ive seen in person. They are aesthetically better looking than the Woodcraft's. The toe pieces are rubber which I prefer, though the knurling may be better in the wet, although that isn't an issue for my riding. Pegs and toe tips are comparable in price with Woodcraft and easy to get. The rest of the assembly is unknown.

As far as the Chinese ones, surely some here have first hand experience they want to share.

Been using the ebay ones for about a year and change, replaced most of the bolts, and had some shift rod issues, but otherwise they have worked as intended..

Truly wish Attack performance made some rearsets for our bike.. Best rearsets out there PERIOD in my opinion.

Incidentally asked for feedback about the CNC Pramac rear sets at dealership yday. They recommend Woodcraft due to availability of parts, mentioned CNC has a lot of bolts etc. that could get loose (they also said one would need to purchase a $100 switch to have the availability of changing to GP shift). Anyone any info on that?

Also said if you are not going for looks, the standard on the 1299 are so much better than on 1199 where they had issues. Also mentioned that on Anniversario you can adjust stock to GP shift with above mentioned $100 switch???

The $100 GP shift kit from Ducati consists of a new lever arm for the shift shaft and a wire extension which reverses the switch inputs. If you buy GP shift rearsets you shouldn't need the kit as the reversing of the shift is being done at the foot lever and everything else operates normally.

So what issues has the 1199 rear sets have ? I have never heard of any 1199 rear set issues on this forum in over 4 years. Not saying you are not correct but I would be interested in what the issues were. It's a pretty simple piece on the bike so cannot see what can go wrong. Some guys have had linkages come off but that is poor maintenance. Not the fault of the rear set. And even that is rare.

They just said that the 1299 rear sets are better, don't have details. They said that they had more issues with the 1199 compared to the 1299, which would be logical, as it is an evolution...

Sounds like a salesman dribbling .... to sell the latest model. I don,t blame "they", its how salesman make sales I suppose. But it's is frogshit just the same.

There is nothing wrong with 1199 rear sets except for the slippery pegs.
