I sold my 2014 1199s last year, and now want to get back in the saddle. Though not sure what to get yet. Honestly the 1299s is not that much difference from my 1199s to me to justify purchasing a panigale again or I may be missing something? The main issue I had with the panicle was heat, I'm surprised it did not self combust.

Ive been out of the news for a while, what else is out there?

Other bikes I considered is the H2 (not convinced with the superchargers as its too new) and the S1000RR ( just can't get over the headlights)

Still searching.

Can say something in terms of 1299s 2016 model (1300km) that I own now and S1000rr 2016 model (4000km) that I had last year.
Both bikes are excellent bikes. BWM seems to be much easier to ride on but its linear power delivery is something that not everybody likes. She was fast and had excellent wind protection during fast rides. Heated grips safe my hands few times as well. I read a lot of opinion that S1000rr is a boring bike. Can't agree with this statement. When it comes to 1299s I love the bike-looks awesome and all the money spend on any of new part make me happy.Never consider to do any mod on S1000rr though.
I believe you are facing challenge in term of choice. I always wanted to have big Panigale thus I had to sell S1000rr. If I had unlimited amount of money and bigger garage I'd keep both bikes. Ducati is a beast and after few years of lacking 2 cylinders (had sf 848 before) I am in love again.

For pure adrenaline and not for commuting there is only one, the 1098R! No heat, tons of torque and unless your drag racing you will not find a bike able to keep up in the twisties.

Wait until September and take a look at the V4?

bmw hands down. i still think its the best combination of street track and pop. best engine in the world and it is no way boring. different but not boring.

or you can do what most are doing wait for the V4

I have a 1299S and the S1000RR. Both bikes are amazing in their own way. I don't find the bmw boring to ride but I would definitely say it is easier to ride, especially around town. But I find myself riding the 1299 more because it puts a bigger smile on my face. So it really comes down to personal preference. Whichever one you pick will be a good bike.
