Most keep the stock pipe on during break in....I'm pretty sure they will come from factory with stock pipes

This is incorrect. Why do the dealers always recommend that pipes go on BEFORE not after the first service?

Also, the stock exhaust will be brand new and unused if you wanted to sell it.

whatever you say buddy, obviously you've never purchased an "R" or a model that comes with slip ons std or even a Desmosidici...nor do you know anyone who has.

Whatever YOUR dealer recommends is not written in stone sir, who knws why they'd recommend that...maybe because its more convenient for them perhaps

Also, good luck trying to sell stock pipes...the average person who damages their stock pipes dont even bother getting replacement stocks ;)...just saying

It really is up to the customer if they want to replace them before first service or not.
I have had a SPS and now have a 996R and I did it before running it in.
My stock pipes still sit in the box just in case I sell the 996.....which of course is not going to happen:)

Actually I do know a 1098R owner. One of my best friends also works at a dealer and I know what they tell their customers.

Tricolore comes with the slipons and map. could also have requested the manifold pipes also from the dealer.

i did purchase the manifolds with my tri so i am having them installed at the time of pdi with the termi's. my dealer is doing free since he says they will have to be in there anyway. but that all depends on when the header pipes get here as i want to have them wrapped first or ceramic coated, haven't decided yet which. leaning towards ceramic coating in red color but not sure how it is going to stand up. any thoughts?

Stay away from wrap, which traps in a lot of moisture and looks like ....
