MCN 2016 Superbike of the Year - And the winner is....

MCN...not known for it's journalistic integrity. Fickle, biased and inaccurate, mostly. If you read one magazine try Bike. It's about the only one where it's beholding to no-one, so it doesn't need to kiss ... and keep a manufacturer sweet, unlike many other publications.

I would like to see a show like Top Gear for motorcycles that would give feedback, thoughts, and reviews as they did. I thought they were honest in their opinions and they held nothing back and criticized if needed. Also they were hilarious and entertaining as show and team. I miss that show...

Quite often MCN has a YouTube video of these group tests
I will have quick look

Strange because last year they were all over the R1 - I guess they found a way to squeeze more out of the 1299

MCN have normally gone against the Panigale in previous shoot outs. Looks like Ducati have the formula right.

Then again, I never had issue with any of the previous Panigales, each to their own.

I can't remember when was the last time
Ducati won a shoot out comparo. Though this test is for entertainment purposes to some and my lap time on
The same track would be 20 seconds more. The write up makes me happy

MCN is full of ..... Last year they were all over the R1 and RSV. Now none of these bikes has changed except the Kawi. Now all of a sudden the Yamaha isn't as good and the Aprilia sucks. Hmmmmm......sounds like they can't get their story straight. Maybe Yamaha recalls factored in along with Ducati sales on the rise. I bet if Rea continues to kick everyone's ... the Kawi will miraculously be the best bike of all time.....smdh!

Didn't neevsy live with the r1 for a year? I'd hate that bike after a week riding on the road.

They've all got to pay the bills. I think mcn is quite good, the bikes I've ridden that they've ridden I've agreed with their thoughts.

hahaha look at all the posts cause ducati finally got a win. if it came in third you all would be saying magazines don't matter.

to the op if this guy said the 1299 sucked your purchased wouldn't be justified?

finally the r1 lost because it is too much of a track bike. if i recall all you hypocrites raving about this article say when ducati loses every year you say its not made for the street it s a track bike which is it?

guess ducati paid these guys pretty good this year. highly doubt it wins any other shootouts. see how many more euros this bike was than the rest it better win

MCN is actually a weekly paper but anyway they don't matter either. They picked a different winner this year when nothing has changed, purely another article with glossy pictures to sell copies. 80shilling is right, they're all great bikes, buy the one you want.

Just brought my 1299S home. It's hard enough to talk about it without seeming like .... wagger. The specs are just some damn good and now this! 2 days of riding... Just scratched the surface and it is MY #1:)

It just gets better and better as the bike breaks in and frees up. It took me a while to recalibrate to a twin, coming from my BMW S1000RR, but I just freaking love the 1299 now; there's nothing else like it.

I don't trust any American magazine. MCN is reporting what people want to hear. That sells. The Panigales have been kicking arse since 2012.

When the R1 was cool and new, it was the greatest thing ever, now it's to track oriented! And the Ducati isn't? What about the heat? What about the fact that you can almost drop a sack of money in mods on the jap bikes before they're as expensive as the Ducati.

MCN has bills to pay. Read BIKE magazine if you want the real scoop and not bias. I always loved how the communicate HOW the bike made them feel during their reviews. Not just list a bunch of meaningless tech posh I can find on the net.

Road Racing World is the only magazine I read anymore. If track performance is what you care about, their reviews are on the money. Shame not many read it.

It's a shame that Roadracing World doesn't have a digital subscription compatible with ios (mac, iPad, etc.). Their digital magazine requires Adobe Flash :(
