Mechanical cable of the Ride-By-wire

The throttle-handle's mechanical cable of the Ride-by-wire (fly-by-wire,egas,ethrottle,ETC) system on the 1199 seems a little different from the others whom have also adopted,or rather the lack of it. For 1199,there seems to be no mechanical cable to a Module. This module houses the demand-sensor and spring return. It mimics the spring-return feeling acting against the opening of a typical throttle flap which is tied to the TPS (like in the current 1198 and others)

1199 does not seems to have this mechanical cable.Instead the pic below seems to show this demand module is directly beside throttle handle, because there is only electronic cable coming out of this module. Picture belongs to Dave R who is also a forumer here.Which explains why this module looks so "thick" taking up most of the RHS clip-on's space comparing to the LHS clip-on.

Aprilia RSV4,Yamaha R1,BMW S1000RR just to name a few goes with the mechanical cable linking to a distant mounted demand module.

Question: For the 1199 demand module, is the module housing a sufficient size of spring to give a good feeling at the throttle handle instead of being vague?

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK,for those been to the show and at the dealer's training/meeting ?

even though there is a cable system on the S1000RR, they do not connect direct the the TB butterflys, it is a fly by wire system on it.

Bro thks, i understand this, the Mech cable goes to a "mock-up" throttle but actually is the module (mentioned above) that houses the spring -return and demand sensor.Sensor output feeds to the EMS ECU.ECU according to the wirtten software or MAPS, inturn drives the DC motor linked to the actual throttle flaps

just wondering if there is a good feeling (traditional feeling like in 1198) on the throttle handgrip which will not be vague or soft...

don't know, gonna have to wait till I can sit on one and feel the throttle. can't wait till the spring to sit on one and test ride it.

gotta think ducati wouldn't screw this one up though.

you're right,Ducati will do good.might be a better approach...
Now how i could adjust the free-play without the cable....humm....?
maybe is that screw on the left of the module mounting screw (crosshead) in Dave R's photo.

Shouldn't need any freeplay adjustment with a fully electronic set-up. Freeplay ( on a cable set-up ) is needed BECAUSE it is hooked to cables. To insure the throttle is fully closed when at idle. With this fully electronic system , the position sensor will simply " see " that its fully closed.

let's hope we'll not suddenly twitch the throttle-handle while going over some nasty bumps.while in-closed position....

Like what happened to Casey Stoner at Suzuka? Or Toyota's gas-pedal-gate? Always have an 'escape' plan...fully electronics are nice, but you'll never know....
