Good morning guys,
First let me say, a Big thank you to all that replied with well wishes, really appreciate the encouragement.
Only had a 30 mile ride home but here's my first impressions.
Got a bit of freeway, quite a bit of traffic including bumper to bumper, and a bit of small city riding.
Leaving the Dealer naturally was a bit intimidating, however, I soon took to it like a fish takes to water, only rode 50 feet in the lot before having to get into a really busy roadway without having much feeling for the clutch, throttle and brakes.
Got a little wiggle out of the rear acelerating out of the lot, which actualy put a smile on my face, 1/4 mile up the road got to test lean, a really tight onramp into a freeway, did it very cautiously because of the new tires and really not having a good feel for throttle responce, but now was time to go through some gears.
Wow... this think has "speed shifting" no need to use the clutch even with throttle wide open, first time I did I it I actualy started to lough out loud, couldn't really believe what I just did and it was smooth as butter, got to 85mph in matter of seconds in third, first and second gear are tall compared to my other bike.
Slowed down a few times moving to the right lane and again acelarating, not too hard, going through a few gears while moving back out to the fast lane.
Totally different machine, you just have to think about what move you want to make and you have done it, almost to quick, something to get use to.
Braking is superb on this bike, I fund it to very predictable but you slowdown at a much faster rate than what I'm use to.
Two fingers on the lever is all you ever need and it's how I ride anyway.
I did not need the depends or a change of under wear, but what I did need was a hankie to wipe the drool out of the corners of my mouth and the tears running down my face, a combination of joy and the fact I used my Wing open face helmet, it was about 38*.
Will be getting the full face Arai Tri Colore bike matching helmets soon.
Exiting the freeway really put a smile on my face, leteratly, but it did not last long as I accounted bumper to bumper traffic at the end of the ramp.
I found the bike to handle super easy at slow speed, stop and go traffic was no big deal at all, and it's when it reached highest temperature of the ride, 207*, the cooling fans never came on.
Theres three things I notice right away I'm going to have to do something about it before I start to ride it on regular bases.
Seat...ouch!!! it was like siting on a 2x6, rear brake paddle, set way too high for my foot position, had to lift my foot off the peg to use it, rear suspenssion way too stiff for my weight, front felt just about perfect, tech told me it was set for a 160lbs rider, I weigh 155lbs now, I know the suspenssion is highly adjustable, so no biggie I think.
Absolutely in love with it, below are some pictures my wife took from inside of the car leaving the dealer and caught in traffic.
