So I returned the $125 DP 41T rear to try and save a few bucks from chain replacement being needed and change the front instead.

So if memory serves oem is 15T and a lot of guys goes to 14T right? Same as increasing rear from 39T to 41T correct?

Any brands more popular than others? Steel vs alloy?

Danke

Going down a tooth in front is like a 41.5 or close to 42 rear.

Also, steel is fine. It is a small sprocket so you don't want any weakness in a front sprocket.

Thanks, any brand faves?

Also, are there LA rides happening soon that you may know about DoubleO?

Nothing I know about. I can't imagine there being a "bad" steel sprocket. I'd imagine it's pretty hard to mess up making a steel sprocket. Any should be good.

You can always chime in on the socal thread if you want to get together some locals.

I would have stuck to the 41. Changes are always best in small increments.

Be prepared to sort our the ride height, as you'll throw the eccentric adjuster way round, to take up the slack.

Not sure how many links to remove if you were to shorten the chain?

106 links at 15/41 and yes it will change the ride height, but you can dial a lot of this out if after adjusting the chain tension you adjust the shock and tie rod (if you fit a variable length one such as Ducabike or Bursi Evolution) afterwards.

Well I returned the 41T so I'm just doing the front to 14T. So that's a small change to start. I just didn't wanna buy a new chain plus more labor. I hope the 14T front will get some of the under 5k twitchiness/surges/throttle uneasiness out haha.

I just found a seemingly cool shop called Ivan's Fast Bikes here in SD and they do good work from what I hear and they got me this front sprocket:

Superlite Front Sprocket 525 Pitch, 14-15T for Panigale 1199 | ca-cycleworks.com

I'm getting it installed tomorrow for $30 haha. Sprocket on sale for $36. Cheap fix I hope. Keeping same .525 chain at oem length. I'll be tweaking suspension afterwards. I'll post the happs and see how she responds mañana :)
