come on with rossi being second . it means nothing. MM was just flat out fast. JLO and Pedrosa are working on things. im sure if they wanted to put in a super fast lap they could have but they have an agenda.
Last year was the same thing. oh rossi is doing so well. Then he came in second at quatar. HE WAS FOR SURE BACK. THen nothing materialized. then he won his first race in 2 years and guess what HE WAS BACK AGAIN. he finished 4th. which IMO a factory bike cant do any worse. Maybe a tech 3 rider or LCR can come in fourth this year but i doubt it highly. that means the worst any of these guys MM JLO DP VR can do is 4th unless a big crash and they miss races.
Rossi = has been but that is better than a never was. keep up the good helmet designs though i like them just take out that damn bright yellow 46 out of the design

2014 could be a very good season for Rossi. Marquez will likely suffer at least one DNF with his crazy aggressive riding style. If MM gets hurt, that's even more rounds he could miss or not finish on the podium. If Rossi can get consistent podiums we're in for a great season.

MM had 2 did not finishes a crash while he was second = 0 points and a black flag 0 points. JLO had 8 wins MM 6 wins. MM had a few HUGE CRASHES where it is amazing he didnt get hurt. JLO and Dani both missed do to collarbone issues and rossi still only could manage 4th . guy is done. If stoner came back he would be relegated to 5th
ps the race rossi won last year all the Spaniards were hurt in some way

Pedrosa's times are off because he is unhappy with the comfort of his seat. I hear he is close to firing the guy they have testing the seats, fixing coffees and running out for donuts. Apparently he's some washed up motorcycle racer from Oz that quit after a couple seasons.

Yes, I'm aware. But like you just mentioned, MM got lucky he didn't get hurt in some of the big crashes he had last year. Luck eventually runs out! He's riding very fast and fearless, but one bad injury that forces him to sit out a round or two might make him rethink his strategy.
It appears that Rossi & crew have addressed some of the issues they had last year so it's possible he can be very strong this year. We'll see... it's what makes the sport so fun to watch.

I picked up on that too... Maybe Akra realized they were missing out on the Ducati retail market without some factory support.
Back on the racing, how about the open M1 pretty much lapping with the factory bikes?

Espargaro has a ton to do with that, look at where his teammate and the Tech 3 full-on M1s are. True, the M1 Open machine is better than the CRT he rode last year, but that's not saying too much.

BTW - that sticker on the Desmosedici is one of the reasons why the Akra is $4,000...

No, Dovi, Crutch and Crazy Joe are on Factory-spec bikes, and Yonny is on the Open-spec bike, at least for now.
